I ran for over an hour before coming down to a jog. l was far enough from the city now I need to be aware of going through pack lands and to be able to sniff out rogues if they came my way. I could already feel a change in Aly's strength. I knew getting out to run would help her recover, but I didn't realize it would happen so quickly. I stopped abruptly when I came to where two pack lands meet. There isn't a physical line where it would be apparent to the human eye, but to wolves its a matter of scents. I looked back and forth deciding to go with the one on the right. The foliage was green and thriving and that had to mean something about the wolves that lived there, right? I advanced slowly, with my head down and in a defensive pose in case the border warriors decided to attack. Aly huffed in my head at the thought. 'Like they would stand a chance.' I internally rolled my eyes at her. She had always had an alpha ego that's for sure. After we were a couple miles into the territory, I relaxed a little. I hadn't caught anyone's scent, and I was a little confused on why no one was at the border. That was when I heard the brown wolf emerge from the bushes. He lunged at me, knocking me over and sending me scrambling for my feet. I took a fighting stance and let my aura seep out around me while a low growl rumbled in my chest. The wolf looked at me curiously until I snapped at him and he lowered into a fighting stance as well, snarling at me. I realized all of my training had taken place in my human form as I did not have my wolf yet, and hesitated. 'Take it easy, you have me. He doesn't stand a chance. He isn't a ranked wolf, but is a warrior so we should be wary of him.' Aly's words dripped with venom, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for him if I did end up unleashing her on him. He took my moment of hesitation and lunged, sending us rolling into the bushes. Sensing this, Aly pushed me back and took control, teeth and claws flailing mercilessly. Aly had him pinned beneath her in what seemed like seconds. She was preparing to go for his throat when she was hit in the side again by another larger wolf and sent rolling a few feet away. Before she could get to her feet she was surrounded by 10 wolves baring their teeth and growling down at her. 'This pack must be made up of linebackers' I thought, and she growled in my head in response. The largest wolf stepped back as the others formed a barrier while he shifted. Aly lifted her head but quickly lowered it as one of the wolves snapped at her. The man quickly pulled on shorts and approached me, but still had the other wolves on his heels. In a commanding voice, he yelled "SHIFT, ROGUE. NOW!" I obeyed only because I was outnumbered and not experienced enough in my wolf form to take them all. I focused on picturing myself and felt my bones cracking. Minutes felt like hours as my body shifted back to human form for only the second time. I stood there wearing nothing but the sunlight hitting my skin and could see the wolves look at each other nervously, shifting back and forth on their feet. I smirked knowing it was either because a n*ked woman in front of them or my eyes make some uncomfortable. The man walked to a box behind the tree and grabbed clothes for me, a grey t-shirt at least 2 sizes too big and men's gym shorts. I had dropped my bag when the brown wolf hit me, and wanted to find it. I figured moving at this point would be life threatening so I stayed still. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "Just passing through." I answered honestly. I had no desire to be a part of any pack but my own. "You don't smell like a rogue, but you are alone and you have an Alpha aura. Care to explain?" "Sure can. I'm the alphas daughter from the Red Moon Pack. My parents were k*lled and my fathers Beta blamed me for it. He banished me and took my place as Alpha." I didn't need to explain myself, but honestly it was all true, so what did it matter? The dirty mutt would get what's coming to him soon enough. He stared at me and furrowed his eyebrows and I could tell he was trying to decide if he believed me. His eyes glazed over and I could tell he was mind-linking someone. When his eyes cleared, he glanced at me before turning to the wolves and giving them instructions. "Two of you will shift back and put shackles on her, make sure they're silver so she can't shift out of them. Take her to the holding cells an no one is allowed in until the alpha or I say so. Got it?" The wolves nodded respectfully and two of the wolves stepped forward and shifted, one of them being the brown wolf from earlier. I raised my eye Brow at him as his eyes met mine and he pulled on a pair of gym shorts. 'Well, well, Olivia. Isn't he delicious?' Aly cooed in my head. I internally rolled my eyes at her. 'Oh stop that. He's not our mate, but we have needs girl. Now that I'm feeling better, that is. He hasn't been marked either. He's fair game.' I let my eyes linger on his and let them trace down his tanned chiseled chest. I heard a low rumble come from him and I bit my lip seductively in response. The tension was high. The second warrior who shifted happened to be a female and she witnessed the interaction between us. She smacked him hard on the backside of his head to bring him back to reality and put her gloves on before reaching into a bag for the shackles. I hissed as the silver touched my skin, causing my skin to sizzle at the contact. As long as these were on me, I'm unable to shift. Aly whined in my head. The silver affects her too. The guided me silently through the trees and up to a large pack house. It was homey and elegant, but smaller compared to the pack house at the Red Moon Pack. The trees surrounding the back side of the pack house gave it a mid evil look and the black shutters on the windows accentuated it. Instead of going into the pack house, we went around the back to a door that led to a downward stair case. The doors were heavy and metal and it took two to pull them open. Shoving me ahead of them, I walked down the steps looking left to right scanning my surroundings. The floor was dirt, and the walls were stone. The aisles were bordered by several stalls, mostly empty except for one at the end. Carefully opening the door to be sure the bars weren't silver as well, I slipped into the cell they directed me to. There was one cell between myself and the other prisoner. He looked at me with empty eyes and I could tell by his appearance he had been there awhile. His matted brown hair and gray mixed in his beard aged him even though he couldn't have been older than 30. I sat on the cot in my cell folding my hands in my lap. I couldn't help but listen for voices to see what the next steps would be. Will they kill me? The larger wolf called me a rogue even though I belonged to a pack less than 2 months ago. That isn't long enough for my eyes or my scent to change. I leaned my back against the cool cell wall and before I knew it I drifted off to sleep.
