I JUST CAN’T

Liam’s POV

“Urgh,please dad I can’t,she’s old enough to take care of herself”I gritted out without looking up.I was typing on my laptop when my dad barged into my room telling me to babysit my sister who clearly is old enough to take care of herself and the girl is almost 16. “Selene can you come up here for a minute”dad shouted,calling my mom from the kitchen downstairs.My dad has a brunette hair and hazel eyes and my mom has a blonde hair with ice blue eyes.I got my mom’s hair and eyes and my dad’s masculine appearance.Mom came inside with napkin in her grip staring between my dad and I.My sister is in her room doing God knows what. “Can you talk to your son,I can’t deal with him right now”my dad said leaving my mom and I.My parents travel a lot which means leaving my sister in my care, but not today.I’m definitely not babysitting my sister.

“Just give me one good reason why you can’t babysit your sister whiles we are away”she asked staring at me.She can be very scary when she wants to be. “Mom,yana can take care of herself for God’s sake.She’s not a little girl anymore and she obviously doesn’t need me”I muttered under my breath and averted my attention back to my laptop. “I’m not asking you to babysit her okay,all I want is for you to be there when she needs you or something”she said pulling me in for a hug “I love both you and your sister so much,I sometimes wonder how I’m blessed with you two” I chuckled lightly “We love you too mum and take good care of yourself okay” I said pecking her cheeks,making her giggle.She left me to finish whatever I was doing.We are the Ricci family and the second richest family in town.My dad owns a lot of businesses like law firms and shipping companies and so on.My dad is Mr Leonard Ricci and my mom is Mrs Selene Laurel Ricci and my sister goes by the name Layana Andrea Ricci and I go by the name Liam Anderson Ricci.Most people think I’m a nerdy kind of guy because I’m a “straight A” student.I sometimes wear glasses but I mostly wear contact lens.

I’ll be starting my final year tomorrow which means the holidays are over for me.There’s a party at my best friend’s house tonight and I can’t wait to go.Mom and dad will be leaving tomorrow morning and they won’t be back till next month which means I can do whatever I want.I am the captain of the football team and where’s the fun when the captain is not around for the party.A message pinged on my phone and it was Marcus my best friend asking when I’ll come over,I sent him a quick text saying I’ll be there soon.
