Recruits!

Under the depth of the bustling and hustling city lay what looked like to be a complex network of tunnels, like a giant colony of an ant empire. Trucks and vehicles meandered through the tunnels like a diligent ant, delivering supplies or troops to various locations. Connected to these tunnels are circular and cube-shaped chambers, it was built for all kinds of purposes; warehouses, training ground, barracks, recreation, canteen, parking lot, and more. Nobody had ever made something like this before, not in Jin Sung's old world and definitely not in this world. The tunnels and chambers were installed with HVAC making the soldiers inside feel comfortable as they are on the surface and to some people they feel even more comfortable in the tunnels. As the days passed into months, more and more people start joining the Revolutionary Army, all for the cause of justice and equality of men, its name was known far and beyond, every day, a hundred men would be recruited. With that, the expense for the military budget increased exponentially because the army needed to build more barracks, more facilities, and manufacture more weapons for the soldiers. It was not cheap to build an army, especially if the personnel numbered more than 70 thousand soldiers. Jin Sung also bought tanks for them, currently, only 400 of them were ready for battle but more and more would be built by Jin Sung's secret factory. Rifles, Submachine Gun, Machine Gun, Mortar, RPG, and all kinds of weapons were prepared for all kinds of situations. Heavily armored carriages? RPG is the answer. Too many enemies? The M130 Gatling gun is the answer. You name the problem, we have the weapon for the solution. Such was the firepower and the military might of the rebel forces, it was not something the Theulux empire could treat with ignorants any longer. Inside one of the cube-shaped chambers designated for the barrack was a group of men who were currently tidying up their bed and preparing for the daily drill. A man with a green tactical uniform and a scar on his nose clumsily folded his blanket only to be unfolded by itself, the man sighed before he tried to fold it again. "Are you new here?" a male voice said. The man turned to see a tall well-built man with red fuzzy hair pulled back to reveal a lively face. "Yes, I am." The man replied. "I see you have trouble with the blanket," "It's not much of a problem," the man quickly said. "Haha, you don't have to be so stiff. we NCS need to take care of each other you know." The man raised his eyebrow, oblivious of what was said. The man would like to ask but he didn't want to be laughed at so he replied: "Yeah sure," The red-haired man walked up to him and reached out his hand to take the blanket. "Let me show you how it's done," the red-haired man showed the man how to fold the blanket, after he was done he glanced at the man and said: "Did you get it? Oh yeah, my name is Teng Zan btw." Teng Zan reached out his hand for a handshake. The man reached out and replied: "Lowis," Teng Zan raised his eyebrow."That's quite a unique name you have," "You too," Lowis replied. "Ah, my name is quite common around here actually," Teng Zan replied. Lowis was a little bit startled because his name was also quite common back in his hometown but he didn't want the situation to be awkward. "I think your name is cool," Teng Zan smiled and patted Lowis's shoulder. He liked the man already but he needed to ask the most important question in the army. "Why do you join the Revolutionary Army?" Lowis stood in silence, his gaze was fixed at Teng Zan. Teng Zan didn't know why Lowis stood in silent but shortly after he replied: "I think the idea of equality is very interesting to me," Teng Zan laughed."Haha, good, good. I also think that equality is very interesting." Lowis nodded with a smile as Teng Zan patted his shoulder again. "Come on, let's go to the training ground for our drill. we're going to need to fight if we want our equality to be achieved." Teng Zan said. The recruits and the soldiers of the Revolutionary Army marched with vigor, they all headed towards the same destination - the training grounds. The training ground was not only one but many scattered around the tunnels and the soldiers would go to the closest one. All of the training grounds were filled to the brim but Jin Sung had built enough of it and the army could use it effectively. There were shooting ranges, obstacle courses, gym, swimming pool, and many more things that will help them confront their enemy. The soldiers had their eyes fixed on the target, a firearm in their hand ready to fire at any moment. A target popped out in the field and the soldiers pulled the trigger in an instant hitting the target straight in the head. It was a headshot but the soldiers didn't relax and a few more targets popped out of the field before the soldiers shot them right on the head with great precision. This was repeated countless times until they ran out of magazines. The soldiers put their guns and cracked their knuckles. This was the elite of the army. They are deadly with a firearm in their hands, there's no target they can't hit, whether it's flying, running, swimming, and jumping. As long as these guys have their weapon and sight on the enemy, nothing could stop them. Lowis stared at the elite soldiers as they stretched their bodies and went to the obstacle course. He was in awe of their ability, those shooting targets are 400 - 1 KM away, for them to accurately shoot those targets with ease, they must be the best among the best, he thought. "Those guys are the elite of the elite, don't mess with them even the CS will stand aside when passing them. Teng Zan warned. "Anyway, you fired a gun when you were enlisted, right?" Lowis nodded. "Well, we're gonna hone those shooting skills of yours in the shooting ranges. Pick the gun of your choice and try shooting the target in the head." Teng Zan said. "Okay," Lewis walked up to the shooting ranges and grabbed an AK-47, he glanced at the target 400M across him. Doubt flooded him, he was not sure if he could shoot that far even looking at the target was quite a struggle not to mention if he aimed at the head part. Taking a deep breath and ignoring the doubt that builds up inside his heart, he lifted the AK-47 and aimed, his posture was correct by look but his hand was unsteady even so he pulled the trigger and the recoil made his shoulder hurt a little. He rubbed his right shoulder to relieve the pain and glanced at the shooting target, there's no bullet hole, it was a miss. "Don't be discouraged. Everyone starts at the same spot as you do right now. Even the elites were very clumsy at handling their firearms when they first joined." Teng Zan soothed. "Really?" Lowis was quite relieved, at first he thought maybe he didn't have ve talent for this and might do something else for the army. "Of course, they aren't born with a gun by their side so naturally they have a starting point." "Right..." Lowis nodded in approval because the reason seemed to be logical. He once again glanced at the target, this time he didn't put much thought into it and aimed his rifle, he took a deep breath and focused his eyes onto the target, then he pulled the trigger followed by a flash and a reverberating bang and the bullet punched through the shooting target, it was the chest spot. Lowis was quite happy with the result even though the distance is only 400 meters away, a distance which even a bow and arrow could reach effortlessly. "Keep shooting those targets until you get sick of it. Don't need to be polite to use those magazines. the army would make more and more anyway so you don't have to worry." If Jin Sung heard what Teng Zan said then he would be crying in poverty. But what Teng Zan said was the truth, Jin Sung had built dozens of factories underground to create more ammunition for the army, even though there's no battle to fight, the cost of bullets still took a significant hit to the budget. This was why more and more soldiers are tasked to went pirate and steal supplies from other cities disrupting their trade fatally, even so, it still wasn't enough and Jin Sung had no choice but to disrupt the trade of other kingdoms, and afraid of the backlash Jin Sung told his men to drop swords and spells to make it looked like a fight between cultivators, if he didn't do that, god knows what the other kingdom would do to him. "Hey, Teng Zan. You want to join us on the patama road raid later after the speech?" A tall man with black hair walked up to Teng Zan. Teng Zan glanced at the tall man."Sure," he turned his head to Lowis."Lowis, want to join us? It will help you to hone your skill if you learn it on the field," Lowis dumbfoundedly stared at them. I just joined the army but you asked me to join you to fight? He didn't feel confident at all in his ability and he was afraid that he would screw up something and disappointed his teammate in the process. "I'm good," he doubtfully said. "Don't be afraid, we will be invisible and the enemy will not be able to see us. Our army is the best in this field and those knights and meridian cultivators won't even know what hit them before they die," Teng Zan assured before he continued: "Besides, we use the truck. So if the situation becomes bad we just have to run," Teng Zan persuaded. Lowis had his doubt trimmed bit by bit before it almost completely disappeared. Yes, that was right, we can turn invisible, we can escape by using the truck and we have firearms to kill the enemy from a distance. He glanced at Teng Zan with anticipation. "I'll join you then,"
