Calm Between The Storm

"Why?" Rigast asked. He was perplexed by Krozor's reaction, it's just a piece of chocolate. Krozor walked up to him but instead of replying, Krozor punched him in the face. Rigast was taken aback, but he couldn't dodge with how close they were and received the blow in full. "What's the idea?" Rigast was angered. First, you threw the chocolate, that was fine, then you disrupted me to eat a bar of chocolate, okay that was fine, but now you threw a punch at my face? If you didn't give a plausible explanation you better be prepared for my wrath, Rigast thought. "Did you feel pain?" Krozor casually asked. "f**k! Of course I..." Rigast was just about to say that he felt the pain but he realized that he didn't feel any pain at all. Rigast poked the blood that trickled from his nose. He was confused, why didn't he feel any pain? "The chocolates were poisoned," Krozor said. Rigast stared at him with slightly parted lips, disbelief can be seen on his fat face. Rigast glanced at the tray of food, his face quickly turning to that of anger. He pointed his finger at it and fired a jet of flames that incinerated everything it touched. "Who dares to poison us?" Rigast asked with anger. "Jin Sung," The woman in grey softly said. "Isn't that the leader of the filthy rebel forces?" Rigast had his chest heave up and down as he breathed. Bang! Rigast slammed his fist on the table, it was unscathed even after it received a stream of flame from Rigast. "That lowly peasant dares to poison me?" Rigast stared at a specific spot on the map, it was Xiangwei. "Prepare the army for a full attack on Xiangwei!" *** Chooga! Chooga! Chooga! The steam train sped up on its rails. The train was long and filled with all kinds of supplies, it was deep black as it absorbed the sunray. Birds and other animals would run or fly away when the train approached. Choo! Choo! The train whistled twice before locking the wheel to stop at the warehouse which was full of people as they immediately unloaded the cargo from the train. This is the freight station of Xiangwei City, located near the mountainous region to make it difficult to attack and easier to defend. Rows of stacked containers and cargo were neatly arranged. body cultivators single-handedly picked up a container, placed it on their shoulder before they carefully stacked the container. This is where the power of the cultivators was much more convenient than the machinery, if Jin Sung used machines to pick up and place the container it would not be as efficient as a body cultivator with their supernatural strength. A man walking with a container on his shoulder was shirtless and looked like a bodybuilder on steroids. His arms were as thick as a tree trunk, and no woman on modern earth would look away when they saw how many defined abdominal muscles this man has. The man walked up to the stack of container as if he was walking leisurely in a park, he craned his neck to look up at the container, shortly after, he bent his knees and jumped with a soft yet powerful force, he carefully held the container on his shoulder before he landed on top of the stack. "Hey, Remy! Remember to be careful with those." A man below shouted to Remy. Remy looked down towards the man and said: "I am careful!" Remy walked to the rim of the container before he lifted the container on his shoulder and put it down. Because Jin Sung decided to use cultivators as labor, he redesigned the container so the top side had a little bit more space for cultivators to stand and stacked After he was done with his work, he calmly jumped off the container and landed on the ground safe and sound. Looking around he saw many cultivators who did the same thing as him, they picked up the container and stacked it on top of another container, there was even some meridian cultivator who use their Qi to control the element and use it to stack the container, it might look like those meridian guys have it easier but without great focus, it was impossible to stack those containers. Remy glanced at the train of which was bare from its supplies. Choo! Choo! The train whistled before it puffed out smoke from its chimney and set off to its destination. Remy's eyes followed the train as it accelerated up into the distance. He had always admired the mechanism of the train, he didn't understand how such a big and huge thing could move without horses or beast pulling it to the destination. He had asked his colleagues but none of them understood how the train worked. "Dazing on the train again?" Remy felt a hand on his shoulder before he turned around and saw a young man wearing black breeches and was shirtless just like him but he was leaned and small, unlike Remy who was basically a rhino in human form. "Yeah. You can say so." Remy said as he turned his eyes to the train again. "You're still curious about how the train work?" The lean man asked with a raised eyebrow. Remy nodded, his eyes still fixed on the distance train as it almost went beyond the horizon. The lean man sighed. "Why are you so curious about the train? What about our leader have you know the identity of our leader is?" "Not really," Remy bluntly said. He really was more interested in the mechanism of the train instead of the identity of the leader. If the leader didn't want his identity to be exposed then why should you be curious, Remy thought as he sighed when he saw the train go beyond his sight. The lean man on the other hand was speechless by Remy's behavior. Why do you put your interest on the train instead of the leader? Did your brain got smoked by the train? The lean man shook his head a few times until he noticed a young man and a little girl walking around the freight station. "Hey! This place is off-limit." The lean man walked up to the young man and girl as he shouted. When he arrived in front of them he could see their figures in detail, the young man was pale, thin, and shorter than he was. This man needs to eat some meat, he thought. "This place is for personnel only so leave this place now." The lean man said. "Sorry, my little sister here really wanted to see a train," The young man turned to his sister and said: "Come on Shi Sung I'll take you to see the train next time," The young man pulled his sister to leave as he bowed slightly to the lean man. The lean man crossed his arm as he watched the young man leave with the girl. Another train enthusiast, he thought. "Who are they?" Remy walked up to the lean man and asked. "I didn't know either," the lean man replied. "Well, they must be quite important since they can enter the station, you know the station has guards that leave no blind spot unchecked right?" The lean man was startled as he realized something. That's right there were a lot of guards guarding the station, so how could an ordinary man and a girl enter the station? I'm not gonna get in trouble right? The lean man's face was swept by fear as he hoped that everything would be fine. Jin Sung pulled Shi Sung to leave the freight station. "Brother, you said that you'll take Shi'er to see the train," Shi Sung pouted. "Well, why don't I bring you to eat some snacks instead?" Jin Sung looked at her apologetically. Immediately after, Shi Sung's eyes sparkled like stars in the night sky, she hopped around with her hand still held by Jin Sung and said: "Brother is the best, brother is the best." She repeatedly said while continuing their step to exit the station under everyone's gaze. After a few minutes, Jin Sung and Shi Sung have arrived inside the city. With the production of cars greatly sped up it was unavoidable that someone would make a transport business, and with that, the first-ever transportation company in Xiangwei rose into existence, it was called Purple bird company. Jin Sung felt weird every time he heard that name, it made him feel some sort of deja vu like he has heard of the name before but just couldn't remember it. "Brother, Shi'er wanted to eat roasted sweet potatoes first!" She exclaimed while she grabbed her brother's hand. Jin Sung smiled when he saw Shi Sung tried hard to pull him down the street as he replied: "Alright, you are the boss." Jin Sung lets himself be pulled by Shi'er as they look around the various stalls and vendors selling all kinds of food. The ordinary people in Xiangwei smile a lot more in the last few months, whether it was because the new ruler prevented the cultivator from harming them or because the weather was good it doesn't matter as long as everyone can be happy. "Come! Come! Try this roasted sweet potato! You can eat it while you walk or pack it to eat at home! Come! Come!" An old man shouted to attract customers to his stall. Shi Sung immediately pulled Jin Sung's hand as she pointed towards the stall."Brother let's go over there!" Shi Sung didn't give his brother to reply before she dragged him to the stall. Jin Sung could only bitterly smile when he saw Shi Sung's attitude. With Shi Sung's lead, they walked up to the stall with the old man still shouting to attract customers. "Come! Com-" "Shi'er want to buy one!" Shi Sung interrupted. The old man glanced down at Shi Sung before he subtly smiled. "That's good for you little girl, I'll give you an extra, do you want to eat it while you walk or pack it home?" The old man said. "Shi'er wants to eat now," She replied before turning her head at Jin Sung. "Brother do you want to buy one?" She asked. Jin Sung smiled. He was touched by how thoughtful Shi Sung was unlike many children of her age. "No, I'm already full." Jin Sung replied. Shi Sung let out a sigh of relief and said: "That's good," before she turned her gaze at the old man who was currently roasting the sweet potatoes. Jin Sung was confused about why Shi Sung sighed in relief when he told her that he was full. Little did Jin Sung know that Shi'er is worried that he might ask for a bite.
