I sat on the couch, staring at the door that had just closed behind my mother.
Her words kept replaying in my head, over and over, like a broken record I couldn’t turn off.
All these years, I never knew. Never knew why my father was so obsessed with money, with power, with keeping up appearances.
But still...it didn’t justify what he did. How he crushed everyone around him to get what he wanted.
How he nearly ruined Katherine’s life because of his selfishness.
Owen had been checking up on me. I still remember the way he told me he was proud I stood up for what was right.
I let out a long breath, running a hand through my hair. I won't live under his shadow anymore. I will liberate myself.
I pulled out my phone and dialed my team. “Release the collection,” I said a
