Katherine’s POV. I sat on the edge of the couch, staring out the window, trying to find peace in the afternoon sky. But my thoughts kept swirling back to Adrian. His face, his words, the way he looked at me that last time we were together. It all replayed in my head like a broken record I couldn’t stop. Charlotte was out to god knows where. I was grateful we finally patched things up. Just as I thought I might be able to push it aside, the doorbell rang. I sighed, getting up and dragging myself to the door.
