Katherine’s POV. I stared out the window as Zoe drove, my heart pounding in my chest. I didn’t know what was waiting for me at the penthouse, but it felt like I was walking straight into the lion’s den. My hands fidgeted in my lap, and no matter how many times I tried to calm myself down, the nerves just wouldn’t leave. “I don't know what's going to happen now,” I muttered under my breath, but Zoe heard. “You’ll be fine,” she said softly, glancing over at me. “Just remember, whatever they say doesn’t change who you are.” I nodded, but the knot in my stomach didn’t ease.
