“No I just realized I left my perfume at my dad’s place.” I tell him as we get to the register. “Trin how are you doing?” I hear Violet ask. I look up and see her behind the counter. “Good and you?” “I am good. So who is the hunk with you?” “That would be my soon to be husband.” “You lucky bit…” “Watch your language Violet.” An older woman says from behind me. “Or do you want another write up?” “No ma’am.” She says as she starts to ring my stuff up. “Another one?” I ask. “Yeah, got the first one for cussing out a coworker. But she deserved it.” She says with a laugh. “How is Ryan?” I ask her. “He’s good, after work he is taking me on a date.” She says as she finishes ringing my items up. “Your total comes to ninety five oh eight.” She says. Cian swipes his card again. “Can she use the fitting room to change into one of these dresses?” He asks. “Yes.” Violet replies. “Which one you want Trin?” I look through them and find the dark blue one that matches his tie. She cuts off the price tag and hands it to me. “You know where they are.” I laugh and walk over to them. I go into one and change. I go back out to him. “Only shoes I have are my…” I stop when I see he has one of the pairs of dress shoes he got at buckle. I look around and see a seat. I take the shoes from him and walk over and sit. I start putting the shoes on and the older lady comes over to me. “Did you pay for these items?” She asks, I look up at her. “Your silence is speaking volumes.” She says. “My fiencé paid for them.” I tell her. “And the shoes are from Buckle.” I say as I put the second shoe on. “I will need to see the receipt.” “Cian she needs the receipt for the dress.” I say as I stand up. The woman looks at me. “Never mind.” She says and walks away. “She sure changed her mind.” I say as I walk back over to him. He offers me his arm and I accept it. He leads me back to his car. He opens my door and I slide in. He goes around and gets in the drivers seat and starts driving. “This is going to be a long ride. The restaurant is a few towns over.” He tells me. “What’s your favorite color?” I ask him. “Blue.” He says, “yours?” “Indigo. Favorite food?” “Anything spicy.” “I like Chinese food. Dogs or cats?” “Both.” “Same. Um favorite movie?” “Any Star Wars movie.” “Mine would be any Tim Curry.” “Song?” “Luther Vandross.” “Wake Me Up Inside, or Everybody’s Fool.” “So Evanescence.” He says. “Yes.” I say then think about my next question. “Why me? Why not let my dad change daughters?” “I dislike how your sister addressed me. Whereas you more or less ignored me and discussed things with your father. I want a wife that can help run things in my absence not one who just wants to be arm candy for me. But you my dear are both.” “Thanks I think.” I tell him
