He was the sin she should have resisted. The vow she should never have made.

When Lena is forced into a binding pact with Adrian Voss — a ruthless heir with eyes like ash and secrets darker than night — her world fractures between fear and desire.

Bound by a contract that ties her soul to his, Lena must navigate a web of lies, temptation, and power. Every glance ignites something forbidden. Every touch drags her closer to the edge of surrender.

But Adrian isn’t just a man — he’s the legacy of a curse, one that demands blood for every broken promise. And when love begins to blur into obsession, Lena must choose between freedom and the dangerous heart that already owns her.

In a world built on vows and vengeance, love becomes the most perilous sin of all.

One- The signature
The pen shook in my hand, not because I was afraid -at least, that's what I told myself -but because the air in the room fell heavier than it should have. like the walls themselves were holding thier breath. "sign it", he said His voice was low, smooth, the kind that could slice through silence without raising a single decibel. Adrian vale didn't need volume to command a room. he simply existed, and everything else bowed to him. "I said sign it". He leaned back in his chair, the shadows bending towards him as if drawn to the devil himself. his suit was black, no tie, shirt unbuttoned, just enough to make my pulse trip over itself. those eyes- cold gray with a hint of blue steel- never blinked, never flinched. "This isn't what we agreed" I whispered he smiled, the kind that didn't reach his eyes. "Oh miss graves, you agreed to whatever terms I decide" The rain outside pressed against the glass, hard enough to sound like an applause. i could see the reflections on the window - the girl who didn't belong here, and the man who owned everything. "you think this is a game", I said, forcing my voice to be steady. "everything is a game", he replied. "the only difference is who makes the rules. I looked down at the paper. the words blurred - marriage contract, confidentiality, property rights. a signature line waiting for me like a noose. my hand trembled again. "Tell me something mr Vale", I said quietly, "why me"? That smile again, slow. dangerous. "because you said yes when everyone else said no". The rain hit harder. somewhere in the distance thunder rolled like a warning. I could feel his gaze burn into me. I should have walked away. I knew that, but something in his voice - something between command and the curiosity - pulled at me He reached across the table and touched the edge of the contract with one finger. "Five minutes, miss Monreau". after that the offer disappears."and so does ur last chance to save your family". My heart thudded so loudly it drowned out the rain. I met his eyes one last time ."you're a monster". "Then marry me" he said softly and find out what kind". Silence filled the space between us, heavy enough to make the clock tick sound like thunder. I could still hear his words echoing - then marry me, and find out what kind. I hated how calm he looked. as if the entire arrangement was nothing but another calculated move in his empire of control. "you think I won't", I said. a flicker of surprise crossed his face- or maybe amusement. it was gone before i could be sure. "you will" he murmured. not because you want to. because you need to. He stood. when Adrian Vale stood the air changed. the space between us shrank as he walked around the desk- slow, deliberate - until he was close enough for me to feel the faint smell of lavender and rain on his suit. "look at me, Lena I shouldn't have. but I did. For a second, I forgot to breathe. his face was too precise to be real- the clear line of his jaw, the cool steadiness of his gaze. beauty turned dangerous. "you've read the terms", he said, voice low, one year marriage, no questions, no interference, no falling in love. you play your part, I play mine. when it ends, you walk away with everything you need - and your family's debt will be erased. His words were a knife dressed as an offer . "what happens if I break the contract"? I asked. "you won't" he replied I pressed my lips together. "And if I do"?. he leaned closer, his breath brushing the edge of my jaw, his tone, quiet enough to feel instead of hear. Then, "miss Monreau..... you'll learn what it truly means to belong to the devil. The pen waited on the table like a loaded weapon. "This isn't marriage", I said my pulse skittering. "this is...... "Power", he finished. and power is the only real vow. I turned away before he could see the tremor in my hands. "you could have anyone, Adrian why make this .... a spectacle"? He smiled faintly. "because I don't need anyone. I need control and you, he said, studying me with unreadable calm, remind me of something I thought I'd forgotten". "what's that"? "That even the innocent have claws". His gaze lingered a bit too long. the rain outside softened to a hush, but the storm in the room had just begun. For a long moment neither of us spoke. The clock on the wall ticked once, twice. each second sounded like the edge of a decision. Adrian was still beside me, close enough for the heat of his presence to chase the cold from the marble floor. I could feel his gaze, heavy and deliberate, watching every breath, I took. "This is your last chance to walk away", he said. the words should have sounded merciful. they didn't. I met his eyes, "you wouldn't let me". His jaw tightened, but that ghost of a smile- controlled, almost cruel- returned. no, he said softly I wouldn't. Something inside me snapped into place then- an odd, sharp calm, my hand reached for the pen. my fingers didn't tremble this time. "Tell me why you really want this", I said, not looking at him. His silence was answer enough. I uncapped the pen. the sound was small but final. a single stroke on white paper, and my name bled into the line like ink and surrender. Lena Monreau. When I looked up, Adrian was watching me- not with triumph, but something else I couldn't name - for a heartbeat, the cold mask cracked. "you don't even know what you've just done", he said quietly. "then maybe you should tell me". he stepped closer. the light from the chandelier caught his silver in his eyes. "You've just married the man everyone warned you about". "i dont get scared easily".I replied confidently. "Good". his tone dropped, barely above a whisper. "because now, you're mine to protect......and my weapon to use". The words hit harder than any threat. He turned towards the door, stopping only once, "pack your things miss Vale. you move into black mount tonight". After that, he was gone - leaving the scent of rain, ink and danger in his wake. I looked down at the paper again. my name glared back at me from beneath his signature, two lines binding two strangers into something darker than a contract. A vow........
