he sighed, slumping in his seat," about what"?

"last night" Julia replied.

"just to make sure we are on the same page are you talking about my kissing you".

" yes" she swallowed, her throat's suddenly parched now that she launched the uncomfortable subject she could only wonder why.

"Jason, I'm not looking to start anything at this time in my life. romance is at the very bottom of my list of priorities and even if it was something I wanted it's certainly will not be with someone on the island I thought I explain all that to you already". Jason rubbed his jaw slowly taught tumbling behind his Eyes," this may come as a blow to your ego but it was just a kiss one kiss not a marriage proposal".

she felt her cheeks warming, betraying how deeply shaken that kiss have left her and how foolish she felt now, seeing how lightly he'd taken it. "I'm well aware of that but all sorts of pains start with a kiss, one kiss" she mocked "and in a week's time a lot can happen"

" no" he said he's too serious again" I just know that something unusual going to happen between us, and we owe it to ourselves to spend whatever time we've got exploring it".

His candidness was unexpected so was his admission of how deeply he felt. Julia curled her fingers over the edge of the table to steady her self. " I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel the attraction too Jason but that doesn't mean we have the green light to act on that attraction". why not, we are both adults both unattached".

" just what are you proposing". Julia retorted.

" I have no plan Julia I'm as guileless as a baby he reached across the table and took her right hand in his, I really thought we should let instinct guide us and see what comes of it ".

with pain in her heart she didn't understand Julia shook her head" I can't".

" because you're living in a week he stroked her palm with his thumb"

" yes that's a big part of it " Julia Says.

he thought about that for a moment then raising his eyes hopefully said" have you considered what a glorious week it would be". Julia's breath studdered. "please I don't have room in my life the emotional complications".

" I'm not trying to complicate your life" Jason replied.

"then stop pressing the issue"

Jason tilted his head, studying her weighing his options" sorry I can't make any promises."

"Jason " Julia squealed

"okay okay" he smiled "I'll stop pressing the balls in your court now the next move we make it will all be your doing. how's that?" "fine. that guarantees there won't be a next move ."

Jason laughed deep rumbling sounds that touched something vital inside her "pretty sure of yourself aren't you."

" you bet." she said.but she wasn't, especially when he was looking at her the way he was now those intense blue eyes of his peeling back all her defences.
