Chapter two
Lunar Veil Pack
The council hall was unusually silent.
Rows of warriors stood beside the stone walls, their expressions tense. Some looked fearful, others irritated, while a few whispered among themselves with anxious eyes.
The news of the Moon Celestial delegation had spread across the entire pack overnight.
And nobody trusted it.
A tall beta stepped forward, his jaw tight with worry.
“Are you truly certain this is safe, my Alpha?” he asked carefully. “What if the Moon Celestial wolves are only coming here to gather information about us?”
Murmurs spread across the room immediately.
“They are far more advanced than us.”
“They could easily manipulate our systems.”
“This reunion cannot be trusted.”
The Alpha sat calmly on his throne, one arm resting against the carved wolf-shaped chair. Despite his calm appearance, irritation slowly crept into his expression.
“I knew their late Alpha personally,” he said firmly. “He was an honorable man. His final wish was for our packs to reunite.”
Another beta suddenly stepped forward, unable to hide his frustration.
“With all due respect, my Alpha, I suggest we cancel this operation entirely. The Moon Celestial Pack has always viewed us as inferior. They possess greater technology, stronger military systems, and more influence than us. Welcoming them here could expose our weaknesses.”
The room fell into agreement.
Several warriors nodded cautiously.
The Alpha’s fingers tightened against the armrest.
Then suddenly—
His crimson eyes flashed.
A terrifying pressure exploded through the hall.
His fangs slightly revealed themselves as his voice echoed like thunder.
“Since when,” he growled, “did my orders become open for debate?”
Instant silence.
Every head lowered immediately.
Even the betas stepped back in fear.
The Alpha slowly rose from his throne, his sharp gaze scanning the room.
“I am still your Alpha.”
No one dared speak.
After a long moment, he finally turned toward the entrance.
“Where is the commander of our military forces?”
A nervous man quickly rushed forward before dropping to one knee.
“My Alpha.”
“Ensure our guests are treated properly,” the Alpha ordered coldly. “Feed them. Guard them. Make sure they are comfortable.”
He stepped closer, his voice lowering dangerously.
“And if anything goes wrong… I will personally pluck your eyes from your skull.”
The commander swallowed hard.
“Yes, my Alpha.”
The Alpha waved him away before speaking again.
“What about the delegates chosen for the Special Forces?”
The large doors opened.
Two men and one woman stepped forward.
The room immediately became quieter.
The Alpha examined them carefully before scoffing.
“You look weak.”
The three remained silent.
“I do not want any of you embarrassing this pack before the Moon Celestial wolves. Show them the prestige of the Lunar Veil Pack.”
His eyes suddenly stopped on the woman.
A look of disbelief crossed his face.
“And what,” he said slowly, “is a woman doing among my assassins?”
Several wolves exchanged awkward glances.
The woman stepped forward confidently.
Her silver eyes never left the Alpha’s face.
“I am Aurora,” she said calmly. “Leader of the Special Three.”
The Alpha burst into laughter.
The sound echoed through the hall as he stared at her lean figure.
“A woman leads our elite assassins?” he mocked. “You possess no rare abilities. No monstrous aura. No overwhelming strength.”
His smile faded slightly.
“So tell me… how exactly do you control them?”
Aurora remained expressionless.
“I simply do.”
The Alpha’s eyes narrowed.
Without warning—
He lunged at her.
Gasps filled the hall.
But Aurora reacted instantly.
She twisted sideways with incredible speed, narrowly dodging the Alpha’s claw before sliding several feet across the floor.
The room exploded with shock.
“She dodged him?!”
“The Alpha attacked seriously!”
“That speed…”
Even the betas looked stunned.
For a brief second, silence consumed the hall again.
Then slowly—
The Alpha smiled.
This time, it was not mocking.
It was impressed.
“Interesting,” he muttered.
Aurora straightened herself calmly as though nothing had happened.
The Alpha folded his arms behind his back.
“You may not look intimidating,” he admitted, “but perhaps you are capable after all.”
He stepped closer.
“If the Moon Celestial wolves reveal hostile intentions… what will you do?”
Aurora’s expression darkened slightly.
“I will eliminate them myself.”
The room became colder.
“One of the most notable among them is Kaelion,” she continued. “The younger brother of their Alpha.”
A faint cruel smile touched her lips.
“I studied him personally. I know his weaknesses.”
Her eyes sharpened.
“And if necessary…”
“I will kill him myself.”
This time, the betas looked satisfied.
But deep down—
None of them noticed the Alpha watching Aurora carefully.
As though he had just discovered something dangerous.

Moon Celestial Pack
Several black armored vehicles were parked outside the palace gates, their engines still humming softly beneath the cold evening breeze. Soldiers moved around quietly, loading supplies and weapons into the cars while the silver banner of the Moon Celestial Pack swayed above them.
Kaelion stepped forward lazily, one hand tucked inside the pocket of his dark coat. His military boots echoed against the stone pavement as every guard lowered their heads respectfully the moment he passed.
Yet Kaelion barely spared them a glance.
Two men approached him from the front.
The taller one bowed slightly.
“I am Mac, leader of the Wolves Guard within the palace.”
Kaelion studied him from head to toe before a faint smirk appeared on his lips.
“You look strong.”
His gaze shifted toward the man beside him.
“What about you?”
The second man’s expression instantly darkened.
“I heard the military made you lose your manners,” he said coldly. “How dare you point at your senior like that?”
Kaelion let out a scoff, folding his arms across his chest.
“And why exactly should I care about you?”
Some nearby guards exchanged nervous glances.
The atmosphere immediately became tense.
Mac quietly sighed under his breath.
Kaelion stepped closer with a provoking grin, trying to tap the man’s shoulder mockingly—
—but before anyone could react, his body was slammed against the ground.
A sharp gasp escaped from several guards.
Skye had pinned Kaelion down effortlessly, his arm twisted behind his back.
The soldiers immediately reached for their weapons.
“Captain!”
“Should we interfere?!”
Kaelion’s jaw tightened from the pain, but instead of anger, a dangerous smile slowly appeared on his face.
“Don’t.”
His voice came out low.
The guards froze.
Kaelion slowly pushed himself upward until he was standing face-to-face with Skye again.
His golden eyes burned with pride.
“Do you even realize,” Kaelion said quietly, dusting his clothes, “that people die for touching royalty?”
Skye didn’t flinch.
“I know.”
His answer came instantly.
“But I would rather die as a commando with honor than kneel before someone hiding behind his title.”
The air turned silent.
Even the wind seemed to stop.
Skye stared directly into Kaelion’s eyes.
“I was against you joining us from the start,” he continued boldly. “Royals survive because others protect them. Out there, nobody will care whose brother you are.”
For the first time, Kaelion’s smile disappeared slightly.
Not because he was offended.
But because the words hit somewhere deeper than he expected.
Before he could answer, the sound of approaching engines echoed through the palace grounds.
Every guard immediately straightened.
The Alpha had arrived.
A long black vehicle stopped before them, and the palace soldiers instantly bowed their heads.
The car door opened slowly.
Zevar stepped out.
His presence alone silenced the entire area.
Kaelion looked away almost immediately.
The tension between the brothers was obvious.
“Skye.”
Zevar’s calm voice cut through the silence.
“You are the captain of this mission. Make sure every member returns safely.”
His eyes shifted briefly toward Kaelion.
“Including him.”
Kaelion’s expression hardened instantly.
“We should leave now,” he muttered coldly.
He started walking away before Zevar suddenly grabbed his wrist.
Kaelion stopped.
For a moment, neither brother spoke.
The guards awkwardly looked away, pretending not to watch.
Zevar slowly pulled him closer and wrapped his arms around him tightly.
The entire palace became silent.
Kaelion froze completely.
Ever since returning from military service, his brother had barely shown him affection.
So why now?
“I’ll miss you.”
The words were barely above a whisper against Kaelion’s ear.
And suddenly, all the anger Kaelion had been carrying inside him cracked slightly.
His fingers clenched slowly.
For a second, he looked like a little brother again instead of a rebellious prince.
“I’ll work hard,” Kaelion said quietly.
His voice was no longer arrogant.
“And… I won’t die.”
Zevar closed his eyes briefly in relief.
Kaelion pulled away quickly before anyone could notice the emotions in his face.
Then he entered the vehicle without looking back.
As the convoy slowly drove away from the palace, Zevar remained standing there alone beneath the cold night wind.
His gaze followed the disappearing cars.
Then he whispered softly to himself—
“I will fulfill Father’s final wish.”
