Levi
It's Monday... Great; my first day as a junior at this school. January 2nd, the first Monday after New Years, and the first day of Winter term.
"Levi! Let's Go!" my dad calls as he starts the car.
"Coming! Hold the f**k on! Damn!" I yell back.
At the school people intently stare at me like i don't fit in and to be frank I don't, this is country and I'm from the city.
"So Levi here is your schedule and don't be afraid to ask questions if you have them." the principal says.
"Thank you Mr. Shaw." I say walking out of the office with my dad.
"Now you know to call or text me if you need anything. And I do expect you to call me if you have an attack. Alright?" he questions sincerely.
"Yah dad, I got it, thanks." I laugh, but i know he means well and know that i will most definitely call if i have an anxiety attack that he's talking about. I walk away backwards as I watch my dad exit the building.
"Ugh." I hear a grunt, and to turn around to see who i bumped into. As i see his face my eyes get drawn into a scar on his left eye brow, it's healed but left a line leaving a break in his brow right before the arch. I catch myself before I stare for to long.
"I'm so sorry... I'm such a klutz!"
"Haha. No worries, no harm done. Hey you're new here, aren't you?"
"Yah... is it that obvious?"
"Not really, it's just that you look a little mix of lost and overwhelmed." He gives me a sincere smile, but oozes male confidence and a smidge superiority.
"Hmm, now that you mention my predicament, would you want to be my first friend here? I'm Levi Hollingsworth." I put out my hand for him to shake.
"Levi? Isn't that a guy's name?"
" I guess, yah, but my dad named me so i guess it makes sense. Lol." Sensing the awkward moment in the making, he decides not to leave me hanging.
"Ah, well my name is Derek Knight." He shakes my hand firmly.
"Knight? As in a knight or night time night?" lightly i laugh.
"The first." as well as the scar on his eye brow i now notice a dimple in his cheek. And hot damn if it's not the sexiest thing in the world.
"Oh and to answer your question, yes i will be your first friend here. What does your schedule look like?" Derek snatches my schedule from my hands before I have the chance to answer him.
"Green days you have AP History, Geometry, AP Photography, and an open... Black days you have Creative Writing, Marine Biology, Weights for Woman, and another open. Wow, that's quite a schedule you have here. Since today is our green day your first period is AP History... smarty pants." He smirks at me.
"What? I love history. Lol." playfully I smack him in his arm, and grab my schedule back from him.
"Nah... It's all good, being smart is a good virtue to have." Derek leads me to to production center to grab my text books. There is 15 minutes until the bell rings for first period.
"Not many think that in high school, they see it as being a nerd or a snob, which I am most definitely not either."
"Well it is and something that is also good. I have History with you, so you can sit next to me and not have to go through awkwardly siting alone." He smiles as we enter the class.
