Michael nervously fidgeted with the cuffs of his black tuxedo, trying to calm his racing thoughts as he sat at the center of the long table. The moment he had been dreading was finally here – the day he would be unveiled as the son of the prestigious Arellano company's President. As he sat there, he couldn't help but feel a sense of overwhelming pressure. The expectations that came with being part of such a prominent family were immense, and Michael couldn't help but worry if he would live up to them. Glancing nervously around the room, Michael caught the eye of his father, who sat to his right, beaming with pride and anticipation. Mr. Arellano was clearly enjoying the attention of the press, but Michael knew that his father's primary focus was on meeting his future daughter-in-law and the future of the company. As the bride-to-be made her grand entrance into the room, Michael couldn't help but feel a sense of awe wash over him. She looked absolutely stunning in her light blue dress, and the way she radiated in the flashes of the cameras was nothing short of breathtaking. As the guests settled into their seats, the host took to the stage to make an announcement. "Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please," he said. "It is my pleasure to introduce to you the soon-to-be bride of Michael Arellano, the only son of the President of Arellano's company. Please give a warm welcome to Ms. Sarah Mendoza." The guests responded with a round of applause as Sarah made her way into the room. She looked radiant in her elegant attire and the way she carried herself showed a great deal of poise and confidence. As the applause died down, the host continued, "Let us all show our appreciation for Ms. Mendoza by giving her a round of applause." The guests responded with another round of applause, and Sarah smiled graciously in response. As Michael sat at the table, he couldn't help but feel a sense of disbelief at the sight of Sarah. His heart was racing, and everything around him seemed to slow down as he gazed at her. Despite the flashes of cameras going off around him, he was lost in his own thoughts. "I never thought someone like her could be this beautiful," he said, seemingly dazed. “ What is this?” He muttered to himself. Overwhelmed by his sudden change in emotions and found himself questioning what was happening to him. Michael abruptly straightened his back and cleared his throat, realizing he had been slouching and buried in his thoughts for far too long. As he looked around the room, he noted his father's expression of joy and respect for Sarah. Michael felt a stab of envy as he realized his father had never looked at him the way he looked at Sarah. He just kept clapping to show his appreciation for Sarah. Sarah's parents are all sat on the left side of the table, while the Arellano family is situated on the right. The couple is seated in the center. Sarah is on the left, while Michael is on the right. Michael's father rose from his seat and grabbed the microphone from the table. "Good evening to all of you," he said. "I'd like to welcome you to the engagement of my only son, Michael Arellano, and my lovely daughter-in-law, Sarah Mendoza, welcome to our family," he stated as he smiled to Sarah and to her parents. Sarah acknowledged her future father-in-law's friendly greeting with a smile and a light nod. As the crowd quieted down, Then he handed the microphone to Michael. For a moment, he just stood there, taking in the sight of her. She was beautiful, with her long black hair and her sparkling blue eyes. Michael stood up from his seat as his father handed him the microphone. He had been prepared for this. He stared at Sarah with love and adoration in his eyes. Michael sighs and takes a deep breath before rubbing his brow and addressing the crowd. His voice was calm yet assured. Michael took a moment and pulled a sheet of paper from his pocket. "As you may know, I'm not very good at expressing my emotions," he admits. "So I wrote it down just to make sure I wrote everything I wanted for my fiancee," he explained as he about to read his letter. “To Sarah,” “I'm not sure how to express how I feel, but I'll do my best.” As he gazed to Sarah then he continued. “ I knew you were someone unique the instant I met you. Your beauty, brilliance, and elegance won my heart from the start, and I've been in awe of you ever since. I am filled with joy and anticipation as we approach the start of a new chapter in our life. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, to wake up every morning knowing that I get to spend it with the most incredible lady on the planet. I pledge to adore and honor you, to stand by you in all your pursuits, and to be there for you.” Sarah was compelled to smile as though she truly appreciated the letter. She knew she had to put up an excellent show for the cameras, claiming to be moved by Michael's comments. She knew the letter had no actual meaning. Everything was designed just for today's occasion. To show to the press that what they have is genuine.Sarah felt a wave of relief rush over her as she gazed out at the crowd. No one would now disagree the sincerity of their love. They must act as though they are a true couple. "To the groom," the host said, "thank you so much for sharing with us that lovely letter for your fiancee." "I'm sure the bride has something to say about that letter," he added, smiling and staring at Sarah. Sarah was taken off guard when she was invited to speak because she had not prepared a letter or speech for the occasion. She felt a flood of nerves sweep over her as she took hold of the microphone, unsure of what to say or how to express herself in front of the audience. Despite her trepidation, she mustered the bravery to speak from her heart, hoping that her words would come to her in the moment. Michael, thank you so much for making that letter to me." She continued, but nothing came to mind. Then she decided to give Michael a speech about everything she had learned since the moment she met him, when her life abruptly changed. "Michael, the first time I saw you, it completely changed my life," she went on. "I used to be the person who was organized in everything, and then you appeared out of nowhere." You taught me how to cherish myself, my friends, and my family. You showed to me that life is more than just work and that it should be shared with the people we care about by giving our time. Thank you for showing to me that I am loved, I promise." She paused. Michael was attentive and ready to hear her next words. "I promise..." she said, After recalling her favorite song by a well-known artist, she spoke with confidence, "That… that I will stand by your side, I’ll walk through hell with you and I’ll make sure you’re not alone until the day I die, I’ll stand by you.” Michael smiled as he expressed his appreciation for her future wife-to-be's statement, but it caused him to pause since the speech seemed familiar to him. He applauded and smiled at Sarah, but he was still perplexed. “That was on FIRE! Coming from the bride to be.” The host stated as everyone smiled. Everyone seems satisfied with her speech as she looked at the crowd. The host paused for a brief period, enjoying the audience's laughter. "No, but seriously," he said, still smiling. "What the bride just said is really something, isn't it? To promise to stand by someone through thick and thin, through good times and bad. It's not an easy promise to make, but it's one of the most important promises we can make to another person. And I hope that one day, someone will make that promise to me too. Because we all need someone to stand by us, don't we?" The crowd murmured in agreement. The day progressed without any questions being raised against them, indicating that they have shown that their wedding is a shared by their hearts and not merely a family arrangement. The press solely inquired about the company's well-being. “Mr. President, this is the first time you've shown your son to the public," A member of the press sought information of Michael's father. The journalist who was present inquired with a hint of curiosity and intrigue, “Bringing to light the fact that there were numerous speculations regarding the undisclosed identity of your son…” The reporter highlighted one of the rumors that was proven to be incorrect, “ Which suggested that your son held the position of OIC at Arellano Company. Instead, an employee named Marvin Del Castro had been appointed as the current OIC of your company.” As he continued “Why was your son not appointed to that position? Is it because he is unfit for the presidency?" The journalist asked The moment the question was raised, Michael's father's expression hardened, and he straightened in his seat. He had expected this. . He took a deep breath and tried to remain composed, knowing that every word he said would be scrutinized by the press and the public alike. "I understand that there has been a lot of speculation about my son's identity," he began, his voice steady. "But I want to make it clear that he was never in the running for the position of OIC at Arellano Company or any other company for that matter." He paused for a moment, collecting your thoughts. "Marvin Del Castro was the most qualified candidate for the position, and that is why he was appointed. It had nothing to do with my son's abilities or qualifications." He could feel the weight of the room on your shoulders as you spoke. The press was listening intently, hoping to uncover any hint of scandal or controversy. But he knew that the truth was simple - his son was not yet prepared in the running for the position. “He could have his time but not yet now…” He talked to himself. Michael was taken aback by the question, and he never imagined that the press would come along for the sake of public attention. Michael is also interested in his father's reaction. When he looked at his father, he realized that he was calm and unconcerned. He seemed to have expected it. The press had been relentless with their questions about Michael's identity, and it seemed that no one could escape their scrutiny. Michael's father had been hoping that this day would go smoothly, but it seemed that fate had other plans. “Our company has gone a long way, and I am grateful to each and every one of you who has contributed to our success.” The president went on, looking at the board members sat behind the press and listening to them. “However, we cannot rest on our laurels. There is still a lot of work to be done, and I am depending on everyone of you to help us get there.” “For my son…”He proceeded and began to speak with a hint of emotion in his voice “ I want him to understand that he cannot simply walk into the top position. He, like everyone else, must earn it. He has to get to know everyone in this organization, from the CEOs to the utility workers. He needs to know what makes each of you tick, what inspires you, and what problems you confront. Then and only then he can truly be a good leader.” "Actually, today is my son's engagement day," he stated emphatically. “And as much as I don't want to deal with work, but thank you for asking me that question," he added, making a hand motion to the journalist. "Let me add one more thing," he continued, raising a glass of wine in his hand. "My future daughter-in-law is also one of our employees. If you haven't asked, she works at the marketing department and has shown exemplary work for the benefit of the company." "We are making sure," he began, "that each member of our family should do our own share for the good of the company." He looked around the room at the employees seated behind the press, who nodded in agreement. "The union of this marriage," he continued, "proves that we treat our employees fairly." Sarah was surprised but chose to smile; she had no idea the president knew she worked in the marketing department because she had only met the company's OIC. While the media was astonished to learn that the President's prospective daughter-in-law is a regular employee of the stated corporation. "To the happiness of my son Michael and his soon-to-be wife Sarah, let us celebrate this upcoming wedding and also celebrate the success of our company. Cheers!" exclaimed the president as he lifted his glass and made a toast by tossing it in the air. "Cheers!" was the unanimous response as everyone lifted their wine glasses and raised a toast.
