“ It's a lovely night, would you like to go walk in the gardens with me, Lisa?” Alaric smiled at her pensively while awaiting her response. One would think by the kind expression on his face that he was giving her a choice here, that even if she said no, he wouldn't just drag her along as well.
“ Yes, Your Lordship” Lisa placed her fork back on the table and rose to her feet. She followed behind the king while feeling Adrian's gaze burning into her back. He didn't object to her leaving his father. Adrian didn't know what the king was up to, but he was comforted by the thought his father would never do anything to hurt Lisa. His father was the one person he could trust wholeheartedly.
