"Hey," Jackson says softly, stealing my attention. I slowly turn to meet his gaze, and my heart breaks at the concern on his face. I feel my control wavering, and my eyes being to gloss over again. "Oh baby," he says, his voice breaking. He pulls me into a hug, and I breathe him in deeply. His cologne soothing me beyond belief. I try to pull myself together, sick of how much I have cried tonight. "Can we not talk about it right now? I just want to go home." I whisper into his chest, ready to sleep this off. "Of course," he says, rubbing my back comfortingly.
We walk back together in silence, hand in hand. I feel the worry in me becoming overshadowed by a small sense of tranquility. With Jackson by my side, I know that I will be okay.
