Jackson sits there in silence, and fear runs through me at the thought of him actually considering it. He is staring at me intensely, but he doesn't look like he wants to run away, so maybe that's a good sign. "Lottie, you are not broken." He says firmly, yet when he takes my hands in his, his touch is so delicate to the point that if I couldn't feel the heat radiating from his palms, I would have barely noticed him touching me.
