Eighteen

   Sabrina tries to stay focused on the case they are handling, especially with the latest murder case. The victim's name is Mr. Ali. Prior to the incident, he had reportedly fled abroad. According to his personal secretary, he rushed back because he got the news that his grandson was sick. However, it turned out to be a trap to get him back.

   The girl sighed again. It caught the attention of Kanaya who was sitting beside her.

  "What's wrong with you?" the woman asked as she looked at Sabrina. However, only a shake of the head was given in response.

Sabrina didn't want to discuss this with Kanaya. If Kanaya knew she was thinking about Luke, things would get even worse. Her partner supports him to get back with Arya.

   These few days, Arya kept texting her. Asking news and other trivial things, while Luke just disappeared somewhere. Luke was never seen or contacted her again. In fact, it was the person that she missed very much.

   "Have you change your mind?" Reina asked. Luke was silent.

Reina who was busy cooking then turned off the stove and sat next to the man.

    For a moment, the two of them were silent. Honestly, Reina was happy, because Luke said he would stay away from Sabrina, but now she felt anxious. Seeing the sadness on the face of the man who once filled her heart, made Reina feel that Luke really loved Sabrina.

   "He already has someone else. I don't have another chance," said Luke curtly.

   "I wanted to ask you something, but I hope you're not angry."

   "What? Is there any problem?"

   Reina shook her head for a moment.

"Do you really love Sabrina?"

   Luke snorted loudly, then laughed.

"What are you talking about. That's impossible. From the start I only used her to know more about murderer case. I'm just disappointed that my plan failed. That's all."

  "Is that true?" Reina asked in a doubtful tone.

  Luke nodded firmly.

"Yes, of course. I wouldn't fall in love with her."

  Luke stared silently at his reflection in the mirror. Even though he had made it clear to Reina earlier that he didn't have any feelings for Sabrina, the inner turmoil couldn't be shaken off.

His cell phone rang again and again from Sabrina. What should he do? All this time, he tried to silence the messages and calls that came from that girl. However, is this the best way? Keep dodging like a coward?

  That young man then decided to accept

that call.

  At first, there was no sound from the other end, before finally the sound of sighing.

  "Finally you brought it up too. I thought... I thought you hated me. I-I'm really excited and don't know what to say. I'm definitely relieved." said the girl on the other end in a trembling voice.

  "Why? Am I that important to you? Isn't he already there? You don't need me anymore."

  Sabrina was silent for a moment hearing Luke's words. She didn't understand what that man meant. Suddenly she remembered something. Could that be what made Luke angry?

  "You saw me with Arya?" She guessed it.

  "That's right, I came a few days ago and saw him bringing white roses for you. He loves you, doesn't he?"

  "Yes, he said that, but I'm not. You are jealous and misunderstood. Arya and I are not related. Do you like me so much so make you are angry?"

   Luca thought for a moment. He didn't know what to say. All these feelings and emotions were not usual to him. Before meeting Sabrina, he had never felt like that.

   'Reina is right. I have changed. I'm no longer a cold-blooded killer who can kill without mercy. What should I do now?'

   "Hello ..." Sabrina called out after a while there was no answer from the other side. However, The connection has been disconnected.

   'Strange, what wrong with him? Could he be embarrassed?' asked her quietly wondering. Even so, a smile appeared on her beautiful face. The feeling of sadness has now turned into relief. Luke also have feeling to her. Her love for him is not just one sided.

   "What's wrong with you?" Reina asked when she saw Luke coming out of the room. His eyes looked confused.

  "I don't know," the man replied curtly without turning his head. He then sat down on a chair at the dining table and took a deep breath.

  "Tell me! Maybe I can help," said Reina as she pulled out an empty chair and sat beside Luke.

  "I don't know where to start."

  "Then tell me how you feel!"

Luke was silent for a moment. He then turned and looked at Reina. At this time, the girl returned to being the person who had been treating his illness like they are before.

   The story then flowed from Luke's mouth. The disturbing feelings, the restlessness of his heart, all he spilled onto that young girl. Reina just kept quiet and nodded, gesturing for him to continue the story as they always do before.

  Reina just sat dumbfounded, after what Luca said was finished. She didn't know whether to be happy or sad. That young man she had known since childhood was finally able to feel love, but on the other hand, he was also sad. That meant the hopes for Luke to think of him as more than a friend and little sister would not come true.

  'That girl must be very special. For someone who isn't as heartless as Luke, to be able him fall in love, that's pretty incredible.'

  "What do you think happen to me?" Luke asked suddenly after waiting for Reina to be silent for long moment.

  "Luke, I think you're in love. You really like her."

  The man was startled and stood up, then shook his head.

"That's impossible! How could that be? That was not in my plan. I was just pretending to be close to her. How could I really fall in love with him? After all, I didn't...."

  "What are you? You are only ordinary human, Luke. Your heart is not make from steel. Even though you grew up without knowing love, your heart can still melt and like someone. Didn't I tell you that you changed? It's all because you fell in love, Luke."

  Luke was silent for a moment, then shook his head.

  "That's impossible! You must be wrong!" he said as he rushed out of the house.

  Reina just sat quietly after Luke's departure.

'Do you know? I also hope I'm wrong. I hope the person you love is me, not her, but I know that only her is in your heart."

  Luke walked aimlessly. His mind kept drifting to Reina's words. He is fell in love? Really?

  'Why? How could that be? This is not possible. There must be something wrong. This shouldn't have happened,' he said to himself. He then remembered the figure of Sabrina. Sweet face and a gentle smile on a pretty face as if soothing the heart. The tiny body that seemed fragile made Luke want to be able to protect and take care of her. The look in her eyes that always sparkled when she looked at him made Luke always remember her.

  'Is this love? If it's true that I am really falling in love. Then, what should I do now? Do I have to express my feelings? Ah, why does only mind her make my heart is beating wildly? I'm really nervous and don't know what to say when I meet her.'

   Luke then rushed over and bought a white rose.

'Yes, I can't wait any longer. I'll tell her that I love her. It must i do, right?'
