But that always added to the charm of the experience, seeing it for the first time was way better and more exciting when it was completed.
It's a house for my great grandparents so it’s exciting that they will be around more.
We jump out of the car as Gerald goes to the boot and he pulls out a picnic basket.
“Your taking me on a picnic?”
“Yep”
I grin at him taking the blanket from his hands and we start the walk up the mountain, I’d never been up here before.
“Where are we going?”
I ask him, I wasn’t in hiking clothes and this hill was definitely a hike
“To a special spot I found one day I was on a run, I just knew this is where we had to have our first date”
I stop shocked by his words
“This is a date?”
He smirks turning towards me
“Yeah Ofcourse it is, what else did you think it was?”
I shrug, not sure of what to say.
“I don’t no actually, but I thought we couldn’t until I’m 18”
He takes my hand and he starts to walk again
“Your parents changed the rules this morning, we can date but no going the whole way until we are married”
My face flushed red, making him chuckle.
“Thank the heavens for that? I don’t know if I’m ready to have s*x”
I tell slaugh panicking. She rolls her eyes at me
“Oh please if he offered it up you wouldn’t refuse and don’t try to say you would because we both know you wouldn’t”
She scolds me. She might be just a little bit right but we will just need to wait and see.
I haven't even kissed a boy before, never mind doing the deed. I decide to ignore that fact and tease him instead.
“So you're marrying me then?”
“Yep”
He answers, a smirk on his face
“And when will this marriage take place?”
“As soon as your allowed to get married”
I blink at him, he was serious. Holy s**t he was serious? Do I want to marry him?
“Hell yes you do”
Slaugh snaps at me
“I know I do, I’m just a little shocked, I think about it all the time I just never realised he thought of it too”
I answer back to her .
“Should you not mark me before we get married?”
I question intrigued, now that he was being so open and honest I thought it best to take advantage of the moment
“Yes Of Course, I should have done it a while ago to scare the boys off, i've got to say you should be flattered. Iv had to chase of at least 6 boys a week for the last few years, they just can’t seem to understand that you are mine”
He huffs like it’s my fault making me giggle
“It’s definitely not 6 boys a week”
He turns his face to look at me seriously
“I am serious, ask Shaun and Tom they are relentless!”
My face heats again, and it’s true I was a little flattered
“Well damn I didn’t know I was so popular, is this why no one but Jake talks to me?”
“Yep, the rest wanted you so they are not allowed to talk to you without me being present”
“Your ridiculous, they do not want me”
I shake my head, he laughs
“I’m deadly serious, ask your dad he’s the one that warned me. And it was true, your mum even confirmed it”

“Ofcourse they do we are hot as f**k”
Slaugh tells me smugly shaking her hips, I can’t help but smile at her.
We walk in silence for the rest of the way, by the time I get to the top I’m puffing for air, I’m fit as a fiddle, I train every morning for 2 hours with Gerald, Shaun and Tom but that hill was steep as f**k.
“We should have just shifted”
Slaugh yawns, stretching our limbs. I nod in agreement
“Yeah but we look so bloody good, if we shift we ruin the look”
She smirks at me. Rolling her eyes.
We come to a clearing, right on the edge of the top. a small waterfall runs down the edge into a small river, there were wild flowers of every colour all over the grass, the view was outstanding, I’d never seen anything so beautiful before in my life.
“This place is amazing”
“You like it?”
“Ger I love it”
The view actually caught me right in my chest, you could see for miles and miles. It was stunning.
He collects the flowers in a small area, pulling them together and into a bouquet then he uses an elastic band to hold them in place and he hands them to me
“Something to remember it by”
I grin sniffing the flowers as he takes the blanket and places it down where he plucked the flowers from, careful not to ruin the rest of them. He takes my hand and leads me over and I take a seat looking at the view.
He pulls out some sandwiches and fruit and Gatorade, we sit and talk and laugh about everything and anything. Gerald was my best friend, he knew all my faults and all my best qualities so talking to him was easy, it always was.
“I can’t stop looking at the view, it’s so pretty”
“Honestly I can’t tear my eyes of you, your honestly so f*****g beautiful Adlai, I can’t believe how lucky I am”
My face splits into a grin as I turn back to look at him. He takes both my hands in his and he moves towards me.
“I am sorry for not making it clear before, I was so terrified to give in and then your dad kicking me out so I fought against every bone in my body, I didn’t want to f**k us up before we even started.”
He rests his forehead on mine as he fiddles with my hand
“Will you forgive me?”
“Already forgiven”
I tell him breathlessly, because once again he stole it from me, filling my body with a warm loving feeling.
“Adlai, iv loved you for so long it’s hard to find the right words because honestly there are none, none to describe just how much you mean to me. You mean so much to me and I want to prove that to you everyday, I want you to know that everyday, I love you Adlai and I would be honoured if you would become my wife”
My heart pounds in my chest, tears brim at my eyes as he looks straight through me and into my soul. My body buzzed with excitement as Sluagh pushed forward and we merge as one being, I feel my eyes change just slightly as my entire body opens up to accept him as mine.
“Yes, yes yes yes”
I tell him crying, then he does it. He smashes his lips against my own, grabbing my face and kissing me slowly as my body responds on its own, opening our mouth to accept him. I run my fingers through his hair as he pulls my body towards him. The kiss was slow and deep and passionate.
