Chapter Four

Jason

Once our skin touched I was shocked, I knew that one day I’ll meet my mate but never had I expected her to be from the luna pack and to worsen it all up is that she’s the alpha’s daughter ‘Oh moon goddess, how long can you torment me further by putting an obstacle in my way to vengeance’ I thought to myself but it seemed like the moon goddess had other plans for me because there’s no way this was a coincidence.

I drew in a quick sharp breath and let it out as I slowed my heart beat to the normal, pulling at my jacket I opened my eyes and looked Leo in the eyes, no emotions as those were signs of weaknesses of alphas “I didn’t do s**t, and as much as I didn’t expect it but your lovely sister is my mate” I said to him with a stern face and then looked passed his shoulders to a more surprised Minnic as her lips opened in shock of my courage. Obsidian was clawing at me to go to her and embrace her but boy I couldn’t do that.

I turned just to be met by the surprised looks on everyone’s faces, ‘was the news that surprising’ i thought to myself and then started walking away and out of the mall, leaving them surprised by my action as long as I know my steeze just elevated and my composure was one hundred percent.

At this moment, I should be happy that I’ve met my mate. Hell I never thought I would have one to start because of my true nature and the cursed prophecy that befell my pack and family, but yet I’m enraged by the thought that my mate is from an enemy pack. I waited outside for a while and once none of them came out, I got into my car and drove off.

Leo

I was in so much shock, this ain’t good news to dad. I had told him that there was a new alpha in town named Jason and he just froze as all the muscles in his body got stiff, veins popping everywhere and then he bursted out laughing like a sinister. When he turned to me he’s eyes were dark showing his wolf was surfacing “Stay away from him. He is dangerous and keep an eye on him, he isn’t in town for any good reason “ he said and when I tried to ask why, he told me to get lost. Mom on the other hand might be happy about it. “Let’s go. It was nice meeting y’all “ I said as I dragged my sister and Sandra with me.

We exited the mall and walked to the parking lot, I brought out my keys and pressed the unlock button as the car horned and unlocked, “what was that for back there?” Minnic asked as I turned to meet her face, she was fuming with anger “what is it to you, huh. Didn’t you see how he acted after saying you are his mate. And dad won’t support your relationship with him for reasons I don’t know about so none of us is gonna tell mom or dad or anyone till it’s safe to talk about it. Do you hear me?” I said with an angry tone and they nodded. I trust Sandra, she’s been my childhood friend and our gamma’s daughter, but I wasn’t sure about Minnic. Her and dad were close and I don’t think she’ll keep it in.

We got into the car and drove off, throughout the ride I couldn’t get the event of today off my head. I know that I don’t like him but there’s something about him that spills danger and my instincts never lie.

Minnic

Once we got home I rushed to my room and shut the door behind me. I was mad and it annoyed me. ‘It was the first time I’ve met this guy but why do I feel like we’ve met before, what was his deal anyways, why did he walk away like that. I’m I not good enough for him’ I thought to myself and the more I thought about it, the more I became frustrated.

Tired of thinking about him, I walked into my bathroom and turned on the tap as it filled the bathtub with hot water and then I turned on the cold water too. I then took off my clothes and walked up to the mirror in my bathroom and looked myself over, I was beautiful and I knew this because I can tell how many guys in school and here in the pack wish to be my date even if for a day, but one walks away from me as though I’m not even his best option. I walked up to the bathtub and dipped myself in it as I stretched myself inside the tub allowing the hot water calm my aching muscles.

While in my comforting state, thoughts of Jason kept on coming to my mind. I screamed in frustration and then started crying as I wrapped my arms around my laps as they were resting on my chest. I wept, ‘Oh moon goddess, what did I do to receive this rejection. I always thought that when I meet my mate, I’ll be happy and not here wincing from the pain of rejection. Even Lyra has been quiet since he walked out on us’ I thought as I cried more and not too long after I slept off in the tub.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off and was surprised that I was on my bed and not in the tub. I wondered who must’ve carried me. It was five thirty in the morning. I wore a track short and a half cut with my canvas and jumped off my window. I was jogging towards the western border of the territory. Once I was far from where the pack members lived, I walked up and behind a big tree and took off my clothes and shifted into my wolf. Lyra covered our clothes with dry leaves and once they were secured, she took off running fast in the woods. The morning air was fresh and cool as it rippled through her fur, the wet earth underneath her paws still damp from the morning due and the sounds of life in the woods as the animals in the woods had woken up to go about their daily lives.

She ran fast savoring the moment and I didn’t want to take this away from her by taking control. I know she’s doing this because of Jason’s actions yesterday. And no way I’m gonna allow him reject me like that without an explanation. So I sat back behind her head just watching as she swerved between trees and over logs and ducking under some too until we arrived at the spot where we had encountered the black wolf as lyra relieved the memories of what happened that day, something about that wolf kept bothering me.

Taking one more lap around the territory as i greeted the border patrol guards, I rushed home to prepare for school. I rushed into the bathtub and took a quick shower. Once I was done, I opened the closet and wore a cargo pant and a baggy shirt and a pair of white can with a small tote bag to match my dressing. I walked up to my mirror, satisfied with my appearance I combed my hair and walked out the room.

I went down the flight of stairs and to the kitchen as I poured cereals into a bowl and poured in milk and little sugar and started eating while waiting for Leo and the others so that we can go to school. A little while later, mom walked into the kitchen. We greeted and after she had a glass of water, she turned to me “You weren’t here for dinner last night, why?” She asked as she placed the cup on the counter and looked me in the eyes, “ I wasn’t feeling hungry and just decided to stay in my room” I replied with a small smile. She looked at me for a while and then she went about gathering what she needed do prepare breakfast for dad.

Soon, Leo joined us and had his breakfast and then we went out of the house and to the pack house where his car was parked as Sandra and the rest of the gang were waiting for us. We all got into our vehicles and drove off.

Still on our way out of the woods from the track road that leads out of the pack to the main highway, it would surely take us the total of twenty five minutes to get to school, that’s if we want to get there on time. Suddenly, there was an accident as it took Leo almost all his might and strength to pull his jeep to a halt. The others had to stop as well as we climbed down the car to analyze the problem of the car as it had a burst tyre. Leo scratched the back of his, probably wondering what had gone wrong as he had checked the car few minutes ago before turning on the ignition. “Not to worry, I’ve got a spare tyre at the back” he said with a smile as he walked to the back of the car and loosened the spare tyre while Dan and Julius helped him loosen the bad one.

‘No need of a jack when you’ve got super strength’ I thought to myself as Dan lifted the side of the car closest to the problem tyre box while Julius replaced the worn out tyre with the spare and we were ready to hit the road once again as we all got into our respective vehicles and as if the boys planned it, all three engines road back to life once again and we continued our journey.
