Luna Legacy

Chapter Three

By noon I had ran the full length of the pack and had observed it's security system which was impressive though. Now I was resting in the covers of a small bush tired from the long run when my snout caught the scent of another wolf in the area, it didn't smell of rogue but it had the smell that associates it with a pack which most definitely would be the Luna pack, and it made me wonder what one of them was thinking wondering alone in this direction. I stood up from my resting place and crouched down to hide amongst the bushes while following the scent of the wolf. When I stopped I heard a twig snap and my ears stood up in full alert twitching in all directions to pinpoint the exact location of the wolf and when I did I started walking towards the wolf, just then it growled deeply as a warning to me. I stopped but I wasn't able to get a good look of the wolf that was hidden behind a small bush, so I decided to advance closer by lowering my head a bit and snarling at the wolf challenging it to come out for a fight. Then out of the bushes came a brown wolf not so big but had a dominating aura to it. I believed it to be a female or young wolf that's just trying to prove it ain't scared but when it noticed my size it whined for a moment and then started growling louder which became so very annoying and I barked at it so ferociously that the wolf stopped on it tracks and it had goosebumps, I took carefully calculated steps towards it which it woke up from its haze and snapped at me trying to clamp its jaws around my forelegs and running in the direction towards the Luna pack. I chased after the wolf and kept on it trail but damn this wolf was fast almost as fast as Rikki so I added more strides to my pace covering more grounds but wasn't enough to get so close to it when an idea hit my head.

I chased the wolf down a trench knowing it would have to run the other way in the trench and I'll follow from above which was a shorter path to intercept the wolf when it comes out of the trench and just like that it worked out as we both collided. My wolf and the other wolf kept on rolling down back into the trench until my back hit a small rock splitting us both leaving me weakened for a moment.

The brown wolf stood and walked towards me, it sniffed me and then swiped its claws at my ribs and as my blood was dripping down its claws it scratched it on the dirt below it's paw and then growled really loud in a menacing way showing me that we're done here and it defeated me. A stain to my reputation I stood up while it walked away and launched at it, as I pounced on its back forcing it to stay on the ground and then I snarled at it and it just stayed mute. This time the wolf looked into my eyes deeply, on a normal moment it would have been a sign of disrespect or a challenge but somehow I couldn't move, I felt an attraction towards the wolf more like we've known each other for a while but I couldn't tell what this feelings was.

In the short moment that I zoned out the wolf was able to push my wolf and run up the trench, one last look at me and it sprinted off into the distance and into the safety of the Luna pack territory. I couldn't stay here any longer and had to leave because the wolf would have shared the news of a wolf near the territory and the scouts would be here any minute now to verify. So I hurried back my to where my blood touch the earth and covered it with more dirt to hide its scent and then I took off towards the stream flowing at the edge of the Luna pack, deeping myself inside the water and washing off the blood and my scent as well so I can't be tracked.

Minnic

I rushed home and was about running up to my room when my mom called my name from the kitchen where she was having lunch and a little pep talk with my brother. When I reached the center table, I picked a fork and stole one of my brother’s pancake, he chased me around the sitting room because of it until mom called for us back to the kitchen, it gave me joy to piss him off whenever I can. I turned to mom and she looked serious “what were you doing running in the woods, don’t you know how dangerous it is to go beyond the pack lands. Deep in no man’s land is filled with all kinds of creatures that won’t hesitate to strike. I don’t wanna lose another child again” mom said as she started tearing up and broke down crying. I felt bad for making her worry this much, but i wanted to be free more.

I walked around the table and pulled her in for a hug. I could never understand what it means to lose a child but i didn’t want her to be in this kind of situation because of me ever again. “I’m sorry mom, I promise to stay within the territory” I said as I wiped her tears and immediately she smiled and got back to what she was doing ‘s**t, she just fooled me. That cunning wolf’ I thought to myself she and my brother just laughed at me because I was fuming with anger and my face was as red as tomatoes, “ Ugh… I’m going to my room and nobody I mean no one should disturb me” I said furiously as I was storming up the stairs “You…” I pointed to my brother “What did I do?” He asked innocently “Did you have a hand in on her plan to fool me?” I asked and he raised his hands up, frustrated I rushed to my room and shut the door, soon after I fell asleep.

It was a new day, Leo, Sandra and I were at the mall shopping when a group of people walked up to us. They were all wolves and they started conversing with Sandra and Leo. I became curious about them as they didn’t smell like rogues but they had a pack scent, one so distinct and new in this town, as there’s only two packs in this town. Taking another whiff of there scent, it smelt like the wolf I met in the woods yesterday. “Jason meet my sister Minnic, she wasn’t with us during the meeting” Leo said as he placed his hand on my shoulder. Everyone of them waved at me and smiled but something about their smile seemed fake and then the Jason walked up to me and the air shifted, his scent was so good and alluring that I couldn’t get enough of it. Lyra my wolf started stirring up within me, curious about this male wolf as he kept on sending waves of dominance the aura only an alpha can possess “ Hi, I’m alpha Jason Jabari a pleasure meeting you” he said with a hand stretched out for a handshake “I’m Minnic Vaughn, daughter of the luna pack, the pleasure is all mine” I said with a smile and took his hands and the moment our skin touched there was this spark that ignited between us as though we became aware as the electricity shot from his palm to mine and it spread all over my body giving me goosebumps on my skin. I looked into his eyes and saw the same expression as he was surprised by what just happened.

I immediately pulled my hand back as my brother noticed my discomfort and came to my side “ What did you do man?” He asked and Jason was too shocked to answer him and this drew the attention of his friends and Sandra. When he opened his mouth to speak he just said one word “Mate”.

Everywhere fell silent and it seemed like forever as nobody said anything but stared at us.
