Chapter Two

Cassie

It's been two years now since I've traveled with Jason and a few others that joined us few months after the disaster that befell the Lupus pack and a year after.

We are a small pack that is not known by much because we run simple services for other packs like being hit men, but we are mobile as we move from place to place. We are the "Dark Moon Pack" and now we are settling in a mansion deep in the woods close a new town.

"Hey Jeff, Josh grab the keys let's go." Jeff's the beta and Josh is the packs doctor as in his previous pack he was the son of the packs doctor. "Hey Cassie, ready for your first day in a new school" that's Rikki the pack's fastest and best tracker. " Okay kids let's roll out" now that's Malcom the packs muscle, the guy's built like a hulk and he's my mate. "Okay we're running late y'all let's go" and that's our alpha.

We all got into the two vehicles and drove off and in few minutes we were at the school. The principal had called in a tour guide and few minutes later a young girl walked in but before she did I believe I and the gang was able to tell what she was.

"Good morning Mr. Walter " she said with smile which vanished immediately she looked at us, " Good morning Sandra. I called you in to give the young fellas a tour of the school ground, they are the newbies in the school." He told her and then turned to us " You may follow her now".

We walked out of the principal's office and had seen the library, the gym, the cafeteria and now she was showing us where different gangs and groups gather but she skipped one spot and took us down a corridor leading towards the labs. We then entered the chemistry lab and Sandra closed the door and turned to us "Now tell me who you are and what you are doing in my territory?" We all shared a look and then Jason came forward and before he could say anything more people or should I say wolves started entering the lab. "My name is Jason and this are my pack mates. I'm the alpha of of the dark moon pack, and by my right is Cassie behind her is Jeff my beta, beside him is Josh. By my left is Rikki and by her side is Malcom. We are a small pack of survivors or lone wolves living together. And for the reason we are here, we live on the outskirt and have taken permission from your alpha to settle where we are". They all looked at each other and then looked at a tall handsome guy behind, seemingly it seemed like they were deciding through their pack link, then the guy stepped forward "I am Leo Rodrigo son of the alpha of the Luna pack and this are my friends. On no account should I see your wolves attacking mine or I'll come for your heads, you get me" he said with a harsh tone while trying to maintain his countenance. Jason simply nodded and then slowly the lab started getting empty as everyone started leaving. The bell rang signaling that the next class had started and we all rushed to class. Surprising enough we and the Luna pack was taking the same class too.

When school was over for the day Jason had mind-linked us to gather where the cars were parked. When we all arrived from our various last classes Jason was already there but he didn't look happy "Hey what's up" Jeff asked and Mikey ran his hands through his hair " Come on man, talk to us" Josh said and then he looked at and saw the concern on our faces " Remember what I told y'all about my old pack and what happened to it" he paused to look at us to know if we were following him and then he continued " well Leo is the son of the alpha that killed my family, I thought he only had one child of which I believed I killed. Seeing him alive today just boils my blood".

Jason

It was an early weekend morning technically the weekend of the week I started school with my pack mates, but this weekend felt different from my usual weekend feeling. I felt so uneasy, probably because I'm in the town that had the pack that brutally murdered my family and annihilated my entire pack. I was curious to know how they're pack worked especially with the security on the border of the pack.

Currently I was in my study as I was going through some files which included some backup and hitman covert operations from other packs in the state. This was the job my pack was into and is the only means of survival we've got. I chose it for a more particular reason in case in the future I'm called by my family killer to secure him, it will be a lot more easier to kill him and take my revenge.

"Jason, are you there…" the voice came into my head through the pack link " Yes Jeff I'm here. What's the matter?" I asked, " I was asking you if you'll be joining us for the training that's if you are less busy" he asked with a calm tone "No I won't be joining but y'all go ahead and have fun. And don't let Malcom beat you again if not Cassie will tease you all day" with that said I ended the link.

An hour and half had passed by and now I was feeling restless. I walked out of the house through the back door the woods behind the house just kept on calling to me and it's been a while since I've gone for a run, so I took off my clothes and hung it on a rope and sprinted naked into the woods. Feeling and embracing nature as the air passed me so easily and my heavy pounds as I stepped on the moist earth, but all of this feelings is not compared to what it felt like in our wolf form.

I kept on running and then spotted a boulder, I lept over it and shifted mid-air into my night black wolf Obsidian. Upon landing I didn't take off immediately, instead I took in my environment. Closing my eyes I focused my senses hearing the stags as they galloped two kilometers away to my left, to my right I could hear rabbits hopping to the safety of their borrows few meters away from me, I could hear the birds in the tree tops. I could smell almost everything the new kill of a small skulk of foxes, the scent of well roasted catch by campers and the smell of water running by in a little creek. There was a small gust of wind blowing in my direction and I could feel it flowing in-between every hair follicle on my body.

I gave a wolfish grin and then lowered my fore legs and spread my hind legs out a bit with my tail up, and just when the moment felt right I limped forward and started running real fast, faster than I ran years back when I was the abominable omega of the lupus pack, faster than when I was being chased for sports, faster than I was when my siblings easily outran me every time we went for a run. I kept on running as I ran passed the edge of the woods near where humans lived and back into the thick woods until I reached near the border of the Luna pack and then slowing down to gallops. I made sure to stay a clear good distance so as not to get detected by the scouts.
