I tightened my grip around my mate, not ready to let go of her just yet, when Karina ran over to us. “Nadia!” She cried, slowing down as she reached us. My mate lifted her face from my chest, showing her teared-stained cheeks as she looked towards her mother.
“Mom.” She croaked out, pulling away from me to walk into her mother’s arms. Even though it was only her mother, I felt jealous of sharing her. I had just gotten her back, so it was a struggle to be okay about not having her safely in my arms.
“Thank goddess you are safe.” Her mother said, hugging Nadia tightly while I caressed the back of my mate’s head. I couldn’t leave her side. Call me clingy. I don’t care. At least I was sharing her with humanity.
