Emily:

After pulling the washing off the line I sit the basket near the back door since I’m not allow to go inside. Sitting on the steps I look out at the forest just sitting peacefully in front of me. I wonder if I’ll ever get to run through it with my wolf. I wonder if I even have a wolf? If I do I wonder what colour she is?

The sudden urge to go to my room washes over me. I know Micheal told me to stay outside but he also said that Alpha William wanted me to stay in my room. Maybe I can sneak in. To my delight as I slowly open the back door I can see there is no one in the kitchen area yet. I quietly open the door and sneak into my room. As I enter the most amazing smell surrounds me. It smells like it’s about to rain but with a hint of coconut.

Mate !I can feel my wolf jumping for joy.

Dread washes over me. No. This can’t be happening. No one comes down here but Michael and Alpha William. No no no! I can’t be mated to one of them! I just can’t! This is my worst nightmare.

Just relax. My wolf calmly says to me.

I continue to walk down the corridor slowly and quietly. As I get to the end a strange man is standing in my room. The scent of rain and coconut has gotten stronger. It’s almost overwhelming, He turns around and his hazel eyes look into mine. He is very sexy. Tall but not to tall, with short brown hair and a beard that’s neaty trimmed. It looks like his muscles will pop out of his shirt at any minute.

“Hello. My name is Joseph” he holds out his hand for me. Scared that someone is watching us I look behind me.

“You shouldn’t be down here” I whisper. “Please go you’ll get me in trouble”.

“What’s your name?”. He asks me.

“Emily” I whisper.”But please leave now. If Alpha William catches you down here who knows what he will do”. A growl escapes his lips.

“Emily. I am your mate and nothing bad will happen to you with me present. I swear on my life”. He holds his hand out for me. All I can do is look at him.

Go on take it.

Amelia I can’t. If he is my mate I don’t want to bring him into my mess. Once his found out what I am his not gonna want me. No one wants a slave for a mate.

That was before I actually doing hun and realised how insanely hot he is. I’m broken and he seems perfect. Look at the way his dressed in a suit and tie. His obviously important in some way.

“Emily?”. He uses his hand to lift up my chin. A spark radius through my body causing my body to shiver. Not a painful spark but one that brings warm and the feeling on love. “ Have you been sleeping down here?”. He asks calmly.

“Yesss” I manage to muster. “ I’m the pack slave”. He looks at me with angrier. Oh no his gonna reject me I knew it. A tear starts rolling down my face. He looks at me with sorrow.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare you. I’m not angry with you. I’m angry at the people who treated you this way. Please I would like to know everything”.

“You really don’t” I whisper.

“ I really do” he whispers back. Looking in his eyes I feel a certain trust towards him.

Joseph:

My mate is just looking at me with tears falling down the side of her face. I can feel how scared she is and I want to help her. I will help her.

Sir, where have you gone? Everyone’s looking for you.

I’m ok Sam. I have found my mate!

That’s wonderful news. We’ll finally have our queen and you can stop being cranky all the time haha. The joy that’s in his voice even causes me to smile.

Don’t tell Alpha William yet. Actually keep him distracted for as long as you can. I’ll explain later.

No problem boss on it. Sam and I have been friends since we were children. His learnt not to ask questions when it comes to personal stuff.

“ Please Emily. I want to help you but I can’t if you don’t tell me.” She takes a deep breath in a starts explaining to me how she came to the pack after her parents died. The angrier boiled in me when she told me about how she had been beaten and how the pack used her as some sort of s*x objected. I was about ready to ripped all the heads off. My poor mate.

“EMILY! I thought I told you you were to stay away from our Guest”. This must be Alpha William. His voice comes across cruel.

“I am so sorry your highness. This one was meant to stay out of the way” I watch my mates eyes widen as she hears I’m the king.

“ She is not the problem William”. I talk in a firm voice. “ Sam”. Sam steps forward and bows.

“Yes sir”.

“ I want this pack on lockdown right now. Every member is to be interviewed about the going ons within the pack. William you are suspended from your Alpha role until further notice”.

“Excuse me?!” William shouts at me. “You can’t do this. I haven’t done anything wrong”. He growls.

“That’s not true”. I calmly state. “ You have hurt and misused my mate and probably other members of your pack from what I’ve been hearing along the grape vine. There will be punishments.”

“Your mate?! Haha she can’t be your mate. All she is is a slave. She’s got no worth to you”.

I look down at my scared mate.

“She’s got more worth then you. Sam get him out of my sight and back to me ASAP”.
