Sloane didn’t even know where she was running to. All she knew was that she needed to get out of that house, away from Liz Walker. Oh, sure, she guessed her father also had to be in on the plan to hook her up with Trey, but it seemed clear enough to her that the Walker prima was the main motivating force behind this particular scheme. Her steps slowed as Sloane approached the creek, which was more substantial than she’d thought, at least two yards wide and running swiftly, its waters sparkling under the bright morning sun.
