I barely heard Cash’s feet tramping the floorboards of the stairs, before I heard him say, “Raven is right. Chance is infected too.”
My eyes stayed steady on Chase’s eyes, even though in my heart I felt the need to go back to Chance to make sure that he was stable. My mind felt torn, and my heart felt heavy in my chest, as I felt like I was torn between who I should be with, and I hated the feeling it was giving me.
Never in a million years did I ever think Chase would be in this equation, and here he was holding onto my hand, as if it was his last lifeline. But as Cash moves to my side to check on his brother, Chase’s eyes veer from me to Cash, breaking whatever voodoo kind of hold he had on me.
