Chapter 2

Jia just finished her exams and is looking forward to the last semester of her 3year degree program. Her friend Gina finished earlier since she's taking a degree program in Mass Communication and she couldn't wait for Jia to finish so she can celebrate.

"Jia!!! we will soon be done with our last year and we'll be official job seekers" Gina squeals with excitement

"Gi you know I have to go back home immediately so I can help my Dad, I won't want to offend my parents any further with what happened last year" Jia replies with sadness

"Your parents are really fortunate to have you, I wish they knew what they have. A very respectful and obedient daughter." Gina says looking at Jia with that face she makes when ever Jia's parents are involved.

"I believe they do, we're just having a tough time right now. it'll pass" Jia tries to shut down the topic

"Girl, I know your good but your parents need to show some sense of understanding, every weekend you travel home to help your Mum with household chores and during your breaks your helping your Dad with the store " Gina isn't happy with Jia's life

" You need to live life on your own terms not on your parents terms. Try talking to your parents to take it easy on you" says Gina

"Wow! that was a heart warming speech Madame"Jia says cracking the tension in the air "oh shut up" Gina says and both of them start laughing hard.

"you always manage to crack jokes during serious matters, I wonder how you stay so optimistic with everything your facing cuz if I were in your shoes, I'll probably have gone crazy" Gina expresses her since opinion and Jia is happy she has a friend who understands her unlike her childhood friend Kiela.

Both Kiela and Jia grew up in thesame town and attended thesame secondary school but things changed when they both enrolled at the university of Buea. Kiela became distant and was always seeking attention from the big girls on campus.

"girllllll I know this may sound crazy but I'm so hungry" Jia says laughing at her friend's worried expression but Gina throws a pillow at her laughing too

"I want us to go celebrate Tonight since it's the end of our final year's first semester and you have no room to say no"Gina says and walks out of Jia's room but coming a few minutes later with a few dresses

"I'm so broke for an outing Gina" Jia tries to escape the outing as she lays flat on the carpet.

"Nah! I'm not buying that excuse cuz we're attending a party and there's no spending required at this party" she says with glee

"But I'm not in the mood, I'm heartbroken and sad Gi" Jia fires another excuse.

"girl get up, go take a bath and dress up so we go for the party. it's more reasons for you to go out there and live your life" Gina says looking at the screen of her phone and few seconds after her phone starts playing 'YOLO by Seyi Shay'.

Gina is a lively young lady from a French speaking family and her values are carefree and liberty which is the total opposite of Jia's family principles.

Gina helps Jia off the carpet so both of them could dance to the songs while they both prepare to hit the house party.

Gina is dressed in a white fitting gown above her knees coupled with flats and a small bag while Jia decides not to wear something revealing putting on black destroyed skinny jeans and a white top coupled with some flats.

Both girls finish with their make up and leave for the party. Arriving at a Large white bungalow both girls make their way to the entrance with Gina leading the way since she was the one who got the invites.

They meet a huge looking guy at the entrance who request to see their tickets before they enter, which they present and are being ushered in. There's music, alcohol, university students from different departments all over the place holding solo cups while some are dancing at the center and others at different corners making out.

"Very typical of UB students to throw a lavish party after exams" Jia tells Gina and both girls laugh as a guy approaches them.

"Hello ladies, thanks for bringing her Gina" Dylan says and smiles at them. Dylan is a close friend to both girls. He's an engineering student who met Jia in the first year at his faculty when Jia was try to getting some info from their department.

They clicked well and became friends and later Gina joined their friendship after she got close to Jia since they were neighbors."trust me it was very hard but look at her all dressed up and sexy as always" Gina says turning her friend around for Dylan

"So it was your plan, you and him to come to this party. You both are ganging up on me"Jia pouts

"Boo you were over due for an outing and I've had it up to here with that stupid boyfriend of yours. Just consider yourself a single Lady today and live wild"Dylan says and drags Jia to the drinks table, pouring her a drink.

They drink, dance and mingle though it was just Gina and Dylan doing the mingling. Jia excuses herself from the group sitting by the side on some couches while others enjoy their dance.
