Scarlett gets home and runs inside and slams the door. She scares the other two girls and they jump out of their seats and look at her in what the hell looks.
“What the hell Scarlett you scared us half to death with the way you came in here,” Brooklyn screamed at her
“Yeah Scarlett, what were you thinking coming in here like that?” Lean piped up
“I’m sorry for scaring you guys, but you will never believe what just happened. I still don’t believe what just happened.” Scarlett stampeded
“What are you talking about Scarlett you went to the library for god sakes? What could have happened in just two hours?” Brooklyn said while rolling her eyes.
“It started when I was heading to the library and professor Hunter stopped me. He said he needed to talk, and that it was important. So, I told him I could meet him at his office to see what he had to say. But when I get there his office door is open, and someone ransacked it, and he was nowhere to that I could see plus, I have seen something that looked like blood on the floor.” Scarlett told them while she tried to get herself together.
“What do you think could have happened?” Leah asked wondering
“Do you think it could have been a student who got pissed off at him?” Brooklyn also commented
“I’m not sure what happened, and I don’t think a student will go that far over his grades. I wish I knew what he wanted to talk about. He seemed so off and was looking all around when he was talking.” Scarlett told her friends
“Why do you think he did that? Could he be in trouble?” Leah was wondering.
“I guess at this point it could be anything, really,” Scarlett said
“Well, no need to worry about it now we need to get sleep so we all can think properly,” Brooklyn said as she headed to her bedroom. The others followed suit and went to bed for the hope they could have a clear mind in the morning.
When Scarlett woke up in the morning, she was hoping everything that happened was a dream and there was nothing to worry about. Until she heard a knock at her door and was wondering who would be here so early in the morning. So, she went to the door, and it shocked her and surprised to see he was at the door.
“Hello, how can I help you?” Scarlett asked in a polite voice
“Hello, I’m here to speak with Scarlett please.” The man at the door asked
“I’m Scarlett. What do you need to speak about?”
“Well, I’m here to talk to you about Professor Hunter.” The man said to her
“Can I ask who you are, before I answer questions or yours?”
“Sorry about that, I’m Detective Wash”
“Detective Wash, what is it I can help you with?”
“Well, I need to know how you know Professor Hunter?”
“Well, he was one of my Professors that has been my mentor for my program now. I will Be taking my final exam here in the next few days for him.”
“OK, when was the last time you saw him?”
“Well yesterday, when I was on my way to the library to get a book for my final. He came over and stopped me to say he needed to meet with me.”
“Do you know what he wanted to meet with you about?”
“No, sir he never said what he wanted to talk about he only said it was important.”
“When were you so supposed to meet with him and where?”
“We were supposed to meet in within an hour of me going to the library. So, when I finished with what I was doing at the library I went to meet Professor Hunter at his office.”
“Was there anything out of the ordinary about him that day when he came to you?”
“Well, when he asked me to meet him he was looking around like he was trying to make sure no one was around. It was weird.”
“Ok, thank you, is there anything else that you can think of that may help me with this?”
“Oh, there were three guys that came out of the office buildings when I was walking up there. I didn’t see their faces or anything but they all three was tall and built. That’s all I can say there isn’t anything else I can tell you, Detective Walsh.”
“Thank you for your time, Scarlett. Here is my card if you can think of anything else.”
Detective Walsh handed her a card, and she showed him to the door and he left. That’s when the other two girls came out.
“What was that all about?” Leah asked Scarlett
“It was a detective asking about professor Hunter,” Scarlett replied to her cousin
“Do they think you had something to do with it?” Brooklyn wanted to know
“I don’t think so, he wanted to know what I knew about it. He didn’t seem to act like they thought I was apart from it.” Scarlett replied to them.
The girls just sat on the couch without speaking for a while. Then Scarlett gets up and goes to the kitchen and makes a snack the other girls follow her and do the same. While they try to get back to normal and study, there is another knock at the door. Brooklyn goes to the door and sees a massager there with a letter in hand. She signs for the letter and takes it to Scarlett. Scarlett looks at this and it has her name on it nothing else.
“I wonder who this came from. There is nothing on here but my name.” Scarlet said out loud to no one
“I know right I have seen that too when I signed for it.” Brooklyn acknowledged
“Well open it already,” Leah said with impatience in her voice.
Scarlett opens the letter and reads it. Her face turned a ghostly white. The others look at her with worry and are wondering what is in that letter. Brooklyn grabs the letter from Scarlett and reads it out loud.
“You better have said nothing to that cop, if you don’t want to end up like your mother. So, you better stay quiet. That’s all it says. No one signed it, so we do not understand who sent it. Should we take this to the cops?” Brooklyn was asking
“Are you kidding? We can’t let her take that to the cops when we don’t know who sent it and if they mean what that letter says. Plus, we do not understand what she’s not supposed to say to the cops, she could have already said too much.” Leah was saying scared
“For one, I think I should take that to the cops. Plus, you watch way too many movies. This all could be just a joke or something.” Scarlett said to ease her cousin’s mind
Scarlett wasn’t sure really what to do, she was a little worried herself, but didn’t want to show it to anyone. So, she took the letter to her room and put it in one of her drawers. Till she can decide what to do. Walking back into the living room where everyone else was to get more studying done. They study for another two hours before they called it a night. Then went off to bed and tried to sleep.
When the girls got up in the morning, they headed to the police station to talk with detective Hunter about the note that got delivered to Scarlett yesterday. They go to get in one car when they see someone across the street. Getting in the car they drive past him and he looks at the girls with a mean look on his face.
“He looks like someone I have seen before, but I can’t the place where I have seen him at.” Scarlett was telling the girls as they got past the man.
The other girls just looked worried and wondered how she could know a man that looked like that. He was tall and wide and just downright ugly and mean looking. So, no one knew how any of them could know someone like that at all. They arrived at the police station and got out of the car to walk into the building. When they get inside a lady officer asked them how she, they could help.
“Yes, can we please speak with Detective Walsh?” Scarlett asked the lady officer
“Hang on a minute and let me see if he is available to speak with you.” The woman replied.
The girls smiled and sat down to wait to see if they could speak with him. It took about fifteen to twenty minutes before the officer came back to talk with them.
“If you could follow me and I will take you to him, so you can speak with him.” The officer said
The girls got up and followed the officer to where Detective Walsh was waiting for them. They walk into this room where he was sitting looking at some papers. He looks up and motions to the chairs in front of him.
“Scarlett, how can I help you today?” Detective Walsh asked
“Well, I have something to show you and to tell you,” Scarlett replied
“Ok, who are these ladies with you and what is it you have to tell me?” Detective Walsh asked while looking at all three of the girls.
“OH, sorry Detective Walsh, these are my friends Brooklyn and Leah. They came with me because they can help verify the information I will tell you.” Scarlett said to him
“Ok, it’s nice to meet both of you and please tell me what new information you have for me.” Detective Hunter replied.
“Well, I got a note delivered yesterday. Here it is and then as we were leaving to come here I saw a man that looks somewhat familiar but I don’t really know how just yet. He was tall, wide, and he had a scar down his right cheek. That’s all I can recall.” Scarlett just rushed out telling everything she knew to Detective Walsh
“Oh, he also was wearing a gray Armani suit and black dress shoes.” Brooklyn piped in to tell the detective that information.
“Oh, OK Thank you, girls. I will not ask how you know what type of suit that was he was wearing, but that will help. I will take the note and see if we can see if there are prints on it besides you girls, so I will need you guys to give me your prints to compare.” Detective Walsh informed them.
The girls shook their head yes and then followed the detective to give him their prints. Once that is taken care of, the girls left to go home, but they went to the club to get a drink to help with some stress they were feeling. When they get there, they see three guys sitting in the back just looking at them. The girls seat themselves at the bar and wait for the bartender to come to take their orders. Just as they finished ordering they heard someone come up behind them. They all three turned around to see who just walked upon them. To Scarlett’s surprised he was the guy she called Mr. Suit.
