***Present Day***                 “Aza, come on! We have to go!” Demmye screamed from the living room throughout the house.                 “I’m coming! Calm down!” Aza hollered back.                 “You know that Luis wants us at the shop soon to help him unload and restock. Every time we do this you take your sweet time and make us late. Do you like making money for food?” Demmye said in a lecturing tone.                 “Yes Dem, I like eating. But I’m not exactly thrilled about having to unload boxes and unpacking them. No one would be. So cut me some slack will ya?” Aza responded rolling her eyes.                 “Whatever, can we just go now please?” Demmye sighed rolling her eyes. The girls head out to the car with Aza in the passenger seat and Demmye in the drivers seat. Demmye started practicing how to drive pretty quickly since neither of them new how to. Thankfully Demmye took the initiative to learn because Aza is absolutely terrified of driving.                 Once they arrive at Luis’s store, they walk through the store and into the back where they find Luis unloading boxes.                 “It’s about time girls! I thought I was gunna have to do all of this by myself!” Luis shouts sitting the box he just unloaded down.                 “Sorry Luis. Someone took their sweet time getting ready this morning.” Demmye said c*****g her head towards Aza. Aza nudged her and shot daggers at her in return.                 “Well girls, luckily for you this load isn’t as big as it usually is. We’re trying something new in the store and decided to swap out some normal things for new ones to sell. With that, we didn’t order to many incase our customers don’t end up buying them.” Luis explained.                 “Okay. That’s fine. We’ll get it unloaded and on the shelves for you.” Aza said nodding her head.                 “Thanks girls. See you in a bit.” Luis responded and walked back into the store.                 The girls started unloading boxes from the truck and sorting out the stuff that needed to go into the refrigerators and freezers, so they didn’t go bad or melt. Of course, they bickered at each other the whole time but they eventually got all of the cold stuff inside and where it needed to be. It took about four hours to get everything unloaded and stocked on the shelves and by the end of it, both girls were a sweating mess.                 “This is why I hate doing this Dem, I hate getting all sweaty and gross.” Aza said dramatically.                 “Food remember? Don’t you like food?” Demmye responded and Aza just rolled her eyes at her. They walked into the shop through the back door and walked to the register. Luis handed Demmye an envelope and she opened it and counted it.                 “Uhh Luis, I think you made a mistake here. There’s an extra three hundred dollars here.” She said taking out three hundred dollar bills to hand back to him.                 “Oh no! No mistake girls!” he answered.                 “Are you sure? We don’t want to take more than usual.” Demmye responded.                 “It’s not for work sweetie, Happy Birthday!” he said grinning ear to ear. At that a few customers stepped in and he turned his attention to them. “Welcome to Luis’s! Let me know if you need help with anything!”                 Demmye put the money back into the envelope and mouthed a ‘thank you’ to Luis who in turn winked at her. She grabbed Aza and a basket. She handed the basket to Aza and they began walking through the store doing their usual grocery shopping.                 “I’m tired. I want to go home Dem.” Aza complained.                 “You like food don’t you?” Demmye said with a little shrug.                 “Yeah… I guess.” Aza said in a drowsy tone.                 “If you want, we can get something special for our birthday?” Demmye asked looking at Aza out of the corner of her eye.                 “Really? We can?” Aza said excitedly.                 “Of course! It’s not every day one turns eighteen. So why not do something special for it?”                 “Can we make a cake?” Aza asked.                 “Do you know how to make a cake?” Demmye responded with a question.                 “No. Maybe we can buy one from the bakery? Like a small one?” Aza asked eagerly. Demmye is definitely the more responsible one out of the two. She’s always on guard like a momma bear would be.                 “Yeah, we can do that. What kind of cake do you want?” she asked looking up at Aza slightly smiling.                 “Vanilla! With sprinkles! Lots of sprinkles!” Aza said extremely excited.                 “Vanilla and sprinkles it is.” Demmye responded. They continued to walk around and fill up their basket with groceries for the week. Once they were done they took it to the counter and Luis just put all of the groceries in bags and handed them over and told them not to worry about it this week. He gave them a wink and told them to have fun picking out a cake for their birthday.                 “If you want to stop by Luis you can. You can bring little Elena and Ms. Lori! It’ll be fun!” Demmye said smiling.                 “I wouldn’t miss it for the world girls.” He said smiling. The girls walked out of the shop holding their groceries. They plopped them into the jeep and climbed in and made their way to the bakery shop to pick out a cake.                 POV Camron                 Me, Tyler, Reid and Chris decided to stop off at Luis’s before heading home from our boy trip. We were going to just get some Gatorades and snacks for tonight since we knew Sam and her little posse of she-wolf bitches were going to come over tonight. Why Chris decided to get involved with Sam, I have no clue, but that makes it our responsibility has his closest friend to keep her friends preoccupied. One girl, Carmen is super into me. She’s cute I guess but not really my type. She’s super clingy and follows me everywhere when we hang out with them. Just thinking about it is already making me annoyed. I turned twenty-one last week and was hoping that I would find my mate somewhere within the pack. I looked everywhere and had no luck. I even went next door to my cousin’s pack and didn’t find her there either. Maybe I’m just not meant to have one.                 I pull the truck over and pull the keys out. The rest of the guys follow suit and Tyler opens the door for us. Of course, Reid and Chris go barging in like they own the place. I walk in and Tyler follows shortly behind me. Reid and Chris are already rummaging through the isle for food and snacks and me and Tyler are caught dead in our tracks. Did I mention that Tyler is twenty? He gained his wolf when he was eighteen like everyone else, I on the other hand had to wait until I turned twenty one because I am the next Alpha in line. My dad and mom are the current Alpha and Luna and in the next two weeks the power is going to be passed on to me. Tyler hasn’t found his mate either but that doesn’t matter to me. He’s going to be the next Beta of the pack. Everyone in his family have always been the betas. We grew up side by side with each other and there’s no one I trust more to stand by my side when I take my Alpha position.                 It’s kind of funny how we would both find our mates on the same day. In all places, Luis’s little shop here. He and his mate Lori joined our pack about ten years ago and they’ve been a perfect addition. Luis is always fixing things up around the pack house and in the fields, Lori basically runs our pack daycare and they’re little she-pup is absolutely adorable. She brings a smile to everyone she meets.                 I swear standing here in this shop and staring at the two girls in front of me is making my heart race. Luis says something but I don’t even here it. My focus is completely on the two of them. One hair long dark blonde hair and bright green eyes. The other has long auburn hair and light brown eyes. They are both stunning. I just want to know which one of them is my mate.                 Out of no where I’m being ripped from my thoughts and pulled to the side by Luis. I look over my shoulder and see both girls leaving the shop and my wolf, Kodiak whimpers in my head.                 “What the hell Luis! Do you know who that is?” I hear Tyler say through gritted teeth.                 “Yes I know who THEY are and I promised their mother’s that I would look out for them!” he responded whispering.                 “You felt it too?” I asked looking at Tyler. He just nodded.                 “One of those girls is my mate. I’m going to figure out which one it is and claim her.” He said confidently.                 “Wait, your mate?” Luis said confused.                 “Yeah, I felt mine too but couldn’t tell which one was mine.” I said looking down at Luis. “Who are they? Why haven’t we ever met them before and why haven’t you reported them as rogues?” I asked with a little bit of authority behind my voice.                 “They aren’t rogues. They have a pack but it’s just complicated.” He answered slightly cowering.                 “What do you mean by complicated Luis? If they have a pack then we’ll pay that pack a visit and claim them!” I respond.                 “NO! You can’t!” he says almost shouting. If I didn’t trust his loyalty, I probably would’ve bit his head off right here and now. But I know him and his family are completely loyal to the pack. I take a deep breath, I need answers right now more than revenge.                 “And why can’t we Luis?” I say raising an eyebrow. He sighs and looks me dead in the eyes.                 “They’re Crimson wolves Alpha.” He responded lowering his head as a sign of submission.                 “Crimson, as in Jabez Crimson Pack?” I ask. Worry is washing me over. Everyone in the wolf world knows what Jabez does to his pack members. It’s no secret. I’m surprised the elders have gone through his pack and ripped his title away for the things he has done. He’s heartless and cruel to his pack members and treats them like dirt while he lives like a kings in his giant pack house with his chosen slut mate.                 “Yes Alpha.” He nods.                 “Did Jabez claim them?” I ask in all seriousness. He knows what I’m asking. I’m asking if the girls have been subjected to Jabez common practice of raping the she-wolves in his pack.                 “No Alpha! That’s the thing, they escaped before they turned of age. Their mom’s and older brother got them out before they had to go through “The Calling”.” He answered making air quotes with his fingers with his last words. Is that what they call it, “The Calling”. If so, then that’s pathetic. “Alpha, they aren’t even of age. They don’t even know that they still have their wolves. They think that Jabez and Mara killed their wolves when they were newborn pups. That’s what everyone thinks in that pack.”                 “Killed their wolves? That’s not even possible. You can’t kill your wolf without killing yourself in the process. Do they not know that when they turn eighteen that they’re going to be on all fours?” I am in just so much disbelief. I just don’t understand how someone would think that they just didn’t have their wolf.                 “They don’t know any of that Alpha. They know nothing of their own species. Their mother’s just asked me to look out for them and explained their predicament.” He explained.                 “When do they turn eighteen?” I ask.                 “Aza turns eighteen on November sixth and Demmye on November fourteenth.” He answers.                 “Their birthdays are that close together? How?” I ask.                 “That’s how Jabez does it. He plans a mating season and allows the male wolves to venture over to the females in order for the females to get pregnant to ensure the constant flow of potentials for him and Mara.” I almost want to puke at that.                 “So, the males and females all live separately in that pack beside for one season?” I ask again.                 “Well, it’s not really a season. The mating only lasts for one week.” I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t imagine only being able to be with a female for one week out of the year. How do those people live?                 “And where are their mothers now?”                 “They came for them and took them. Jabez and his men. Aza’s older brother left to turn himself in shortly afterwards so that Jabez wouldn’t have a reason to come back and wouldn’t find the girls. Their mothers have done everything in their power to protect them along with Phillip, the older brother.” He answered.                 “Are they still alive?” I’m feel almost broken knowing that my mate doesn’t really have a pack or even a family. She doesn’t even know she has a wolf.                 “I don’t know Alpha. You know how Jabez is. If they aren’t dead, then they are definitely not living well.” I know what he means. He means that they are imprisoned and most likely being tortured. Aza and Demmye are seen as being his property and he definitely feels like they were stolen from him. He’s about to get a rude awakening though, because one of them is mine and I swear that I’m not going to let anything happen to her.
