Chapter Six
“So?” Mary Ellen asked as she sipped her coffee. “Are you going to tell me about it?”
Annie stopped dunking her chips in the tomato sauce and looked up at her friend.
“About what?”
“You and Garrett.” Mary Ellen grinned. “Ever since you two started dating you’ve been going round looking the happiest I’ve seen you in a long time.”
They were sitting in their favourite diner for their weekly catch-up. Mary Ellen was off her mating cycle and was now on the day shift so Annie had suggested they start up their catch-ups again. It had been something she had missed after Tommy spectacularly ended it with her and she relished their return. Mary Ellen had been equally eager and she was desperate to hear Annie’s progress with her new boyfriend.
