Ayanna Quintan

Chapter eight

I gave myself a once over in the mirror, double checking I was happy with my appearance. 

I wore a black denim skirt with a white singlet then wrapped and black and white flannel around my waist. I added a pair of black boots to match.

Like usual I wore very minimum makeup and let my hair run down my back, although I had decided to loosely curl it.

Knowing I had left my house keys in the kitchen, I went to get them since I had no idea when I would be getting home from the party. 

Zander and Azande stood there talking but stopped when I entered 

"Wow, Ayanna you look really good" Zander complimented 

"Thank you" I smiled his way

I quickly glanced at Azande and watched as his eyes draped over my body then back up to my eyes.

I grabbed my keys and was about to say bye when a girl appeared in the doorway. She was slim and tall, absolutely gorgeous with blonde hair. 

"Oh so you're Ayanna" she spoke 

"Yeah and you are?" 

"I'm emerald, another friend of all these but more importantly you look hot" 

I laughed in response. I liked her already.

Azande barged past me and knocked my shoulder on the way out the kitchen.  Jerk.

"If I was you I would leave quickly before Ambrose see's you because he'll definitely make you change" Emerald told me 

"That's good advice, see you again soon" I waved 

Amira pulled up outside the house just as I stepped onto the porch.  Her car looked very posh which automatically made me assume she came from a wealthy family. 

"Girl you're rocking that look!" she squealed 

"Thank you! you look damn good too" I complimented 

"Nice house by the way" 

She pulled away from the house and began our journey to the party.

"Thank you" 

"So what made you're parents move here?" 

"Oh no, I moved in with my brother. That's his house" 

"Oh really...cool" 

We drove about ten minutes before pulling up outside a large house. The drive way was already rammed with cars and I found myself hoping that none of those drivers would be stupid enough to drink drive later on. 

"Lets go party!" Amira called out excitedly 

She locked arms with me and practically dragged me towards the house. I didn't understand how she could walk that fast while wearing heels. 

We entered through the  front door and music met my ears while drunken teens met my sight. I'd never seen so many people in one space. 

"We'll get a drink first" Amira shouted over the music

I nodded and followed her through all the people. I was surprised how many people she managed to push out her way.

We made it to the kitchen where Luca, Alix and Rebecca stood together. 

"You made it!" came Alix's voice 

"Hey" I smiled towards them 

"Let's get you a drink!" Luca exclaimed 

He opened the fridge and revealed a load of alcohol. 

"Take you're pick" 

I grabbed a random can knowing I wasn't a fussy drinker. I locked eyes with Rebecca who was already staring at me. She rolled her eyes and then left the kitchen, she clearly wasn't happy being in my presence. 

"Tobias there you are!" shouted Luca

I turned my attention to the new addition. He wore tight black jeans and a white shirt whose top two buttons were left undone. 

I traced my eyes along his crisp collar then up past his neck towards his lips. They twitched into a smirk and it was that moment I knew I was caught checking him out. 

"you look gorgeous Ayanna" 

I smiled towards him ignoring the sudden butterflies in my stomach

"Thank you"

"enough of this, lets dance!" exclaimed Amira 

I followed the others in the main room where all the other teenagers were dancing. We found our spot and joined in. That's how it was for hours, dancing, laughing, singing and drinking. 

"are you okay?" Tobias shouted over the music

I looked towards him but he was just a moving blur. I couldn't make out any features but I recognized the voice. The alcohol must've really gotten to me. 

"you don't look to good" he spoke again 

Suddenly the area began to spin and I could feel myself falling. 

"I've got you" 

A pair of arms wrapped around me and brought my back upright. I could feel my feet moving but I couldn't see where I was being led. 

Blocks of color spun around me. Blue and red. 

"sit here" Tobias instructed "I'm going to get you water, I'll be right back" 

It was then that all sound began to disappear and blinking increased

"Ayanna?... s**t"

I wasn't sure whose voice appeared next to me but I knew it wasn't Tobias

"Lets get you out of here" 

Each passing second my eyes grew heavier and I knew I couldn't keep them open much longer so I welcomed the darkness.
