Amira had stayed by my side all day, she insisted she wanted to insure I was safe. It was as though I was suddenly a psycho's next murder victim.
"Amira, really I'm-"
"fine, yes I know but you can't shake me that easily"
"I guess I'm stuck with you being a personal baby-sitter then" I smiled jokingly
"until Tobias says-"
She stopped mid sentence and suddenly her face became tomato red. I watched as her eyes raced between the floor and me. What exactly are you hiding?
"Until Tobias says what?" I probed
"Uh- Tobias? what are you talking about? see this is exactly why I have to keep my eye on you. You're imagining things"
I chuckled at her response but the nervous fidgeting with her hands told me that her words where a lie.
"Amira, tell me"
"Tell you a story? sure... well once upon a time-"
"once upon a time, Amira tried keeping something from Ayanna but was a terrible liar and then had no choice but to spill the truth" I finished for her
She smiled and rolled her eyes. There's no getting out of this one.
"That story doesn't sound very realistic to me" she responded
I sent a pointed look her way, I'm way to stubborn to give up.
"Fine! Tobias may have told me to keep an eye on you" she shrugged
"That b***h did what!?!"
"calm down, he was just worried. Heck we all were so I agreed thinking it would be a good idea"
"I appreciate that, I really do but I promise I'm okay. Besides, I certainly won't be drinking in school so no one can drug me here anyway. You really don't have to be concerned"
Amira smiled and nudged me slightly with her arm in a playful manner.
"well that's what friends do, they worry about other friends but I promise to back off"
I smiled and nodded in response
"oh and also, don't let Tobias boss you around. Just wait till I-"
"No, don't tell him. Please, please, please don't tell him" she begged
wow, she really didn't want him to know, but why?
"Okay but what's the big deal anyway?"
She paused a moment, clearly thinking about the next words that come out her mouth.
"He told me not to tell you, he isn't supposed to care about people and all that bad boy exterior stuff. Wouldn't want to embarrass him would we?"
Actually, hell yes I would
But for Amira's sake I won't
"I guess you're right. Now lets get food, I could eat a whole house right now" I laughed
"Food here we come!"

I was pretty sure Mrs. evens was having a mental breakdown. Perhaps she had hit a midlife crisis.
"That's it!"
The random out burst caused all the students to look at the curly haired women who leant lazily against her desk.
"Go, all of you just... go" she finally finished
Everyone around me grabbed their belongings and left without a second thought.
Was she even allowed to send us all home early?
Copying the rest of the students, I packed up and began exiting the school. Great, now I have to wait even longer for Ambrose.
"Hey loser"
"Are you talking to yourself?" I questioned as I faced Tobias.
"Ha, you're as funny as usual"
"Still not as funny as you're face" I shrugged
Lie, pure and utter lie.
"Just imagine how hurtful that would be if I actually cared about you're thoughts"
"Oh, sorry tough guy"
He showcased a smirk before deciding to lean beside me on the brick wall of the school.
"What do you want Toby?"
"First off, don't call me that" he said with a stern voice "and I wanted to know what you're doing tonight"
"Oh I'm just going to Mars, the usual ya know"
"Well I've never been to mars but I can definitely make you feel on top of the world... and I'm pretty sure they'll hear you screaming up in mars"
Well it's rude not to accept free offers...
"I'd rather lie in the road and be run over multiple times by a bus"
"Is that you're way of hinting that you like to be the bottom? Because I'd like you in all sorts of positions"
"You really need you're head checked, like urgently"
"As long as you're my nurse"
I could feel my cheeks burning and by now they were probably a noticeable shade of red.
"Shut up Toby"
"Let me take you out" he spoke
I looked at him with my eyes most likely popping out my head. Did he just ask me out?
"Don't look so terrified. I don't bite...unless you want me to"
"Toby-"
"I meant to hangout Ayanna, don't flatter yourself"
I knew Ambrose really wouldn't like it. He had made it completely clear that he hated their group.
But what he doesn't know doesn't hurt him right?
Besides, why should he control who I'm friends with?
"Fine, but let's go now" I shrugged
I knew I would have to leave before Ambrose showed up. I sent him a quick text to say I was hanging out with a friend that was helping me study.
I plunked myself down in the passenger seat of Tobias' car and buckled the belt. Safety first.
"Wait! Tobias!"
The shouting outside the car caught my attention. Luca was jogging towards the car.
I began rolling down the window just as the car started quickly moving forward. Before I could even register what was happening we were outside the school gates.
"Lucas... did you just pretend not to hear him? Don't you usually give him a lift?" I asked completely baffled that he had just left his friend behind.
"I had a better offer" he shrugged while refusing to look my way.
I couldn't remember eating any butterflies
