Bronx POV

Suddenly I hear a voice. Hey bud I'm Maximus but you can call me Max. I know you probably don't remember me but we have met before. Wait what the hell is going on! Maximus like in the diary? My wolf's name is Maximus. Was that whole crazy story real? Maximus just laughs and said it's not crazy to me because I'm right here and was there but you and I will have to remember together but right now I'm here for a reason. I look frantically at my mother who only sighs and said son we need to talk but first let's go check on the girl. Maximus starts running circles in my mind causing me to walk into a wall. my mother gives me a knowing look and we continue down the hallway she says it's ok son everything will be ok. she has tears in her eyes as we enter the bedroom the girl seems to have fallen asleep again. My mother sees her face and gasps. Her eyes fog over and my dad rushes in the room. He looks at the girl and his jaw just drops. I am so confused. My father speaks up let her rest we must go talk now.

The three of us head to the kitchen together and sit around the table. I want to go back to the girl she smells like blackberries and sugar. I can't explain why but I don't want to leave her side. Maximus asks to come forward to speak to my parents and I just don't understand so I let him take control.

My mother is the first to speak. Bronx? this is strange I'm here but I'm not here I'm within my head and it's as if I'm possessed. I am interested in the conversation so I sit back and let Maximus do the talking.

Sorry mom. Maximus what are you doing here?! my mom practically shouts. Sadness racks my body I offer support to Maximus telling him that she isn't mad she is just confused. He seems to relax a little and begins to talk. Mom Bronx found our mate in the woods causing me to resurface early. I didn't mean to come back early but mate she is so beautiful. Maximus he doesn't understand anything that is happening he must be frightened and confused. Mom he really isn't he has an idea of everything even though he doesn't remember just yet he knows. My father finally speaks up how could he possibly have any idea we've been very diligent to keep him away from knowing so he could enjoy what life we could give him. Dad he found mom's diary yesterday and read parts of it. man I wish he hadn't said that mom looks mortified... oh well can't be helped now. Well that makes sense she never was to good at hiding things and he was bound to figure it out sooner rather than later, but Maximus you said you found your mate? I didn't Bronx did. The girl in the our room is mate. Mom do you think she will accept us? I'm scared to loose her already. It's my turn to talk maximus let me through. Maximus retreats to the back of my mind as I come forth.

Mom, Dad I would like to speak to Jax and Cher my parents nod and their eyes change color their voices different as well.

hello my beautiful pup. I have missed you. I thought it was unfair all these years that I haven't been able to be here for you, You've become strong in my absence I see that Remus and Claire have done well. I know you must have questions I have put up a block so Claire cannot hear us.

Mom what is a mate?

our mates are the other half of our souls they complete us; balance us so that we may live life in harmony. A mate is a precious thing to be loved and cared for and protected at all costs.

What is rejection?

Rejection is when a mate chooses to not complete the bonding of souls it is rare and it is very painful some wolves don't survive. As we wolves mate for life.

my pup that is hard to tell maximus is the most powerful wolf of our kind but you two have yet to bond and train but that can be done now that Cher and I are here. son your mate I can hear her moving you should go to her.

Now I'm curious, nervous and scared. I had no idea I could die if someone did not love me that seems so cruel. I guess it's time to face the music now or never.
