Pregnant.
Chapter 1
Nathalie’s POV
Zachary and I had been dating for years.
Our relationship had never been easy. My mother was completely against us because she and Zachary’s mother were bitter rivals, but that had never stopped me from loving him.
Lately, however, something felt different.
I had been feeling strange, and my period was late.
I tried not to panic, but when I realized I had missed it completely, my heart began racing.
The last time Zachary and I had been together, I had forgotten to take my contraceptive.
I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
So, I called my best friend, Daniella, and asked her to come over.
We bought a pregnancy test together.
I stared at the result.
Positive.
My hands began to shake.
“Gosh, girl! I can’t believe you and Zachary are going to be parents!” Daniella exclaimed, laughing excitedly.
But I couldn’t laugh.
I was too scared.
“What am I going to do?” I whispered.
Daniella’s smile faded.
“Nathalie…”
“What if Zachary doesn’t want the baby?” I asked, my voice trembling. “What if he tells me to leave him?”
She reached for my hand.
“You need to talk to him.”
I knew she was right.
But I was terrified.
I picked up my phone and called Zachary.
When he answered, I took a deep breath.
“Zachary, I need to tell you something.”
I told him everything.
There was silence on the other end.
Then he finally spoke.
“Come to the hospital. We need to talk.”
My heart sank.
I knew what that meant.
He wanted me to get an abortion.
“Daniella, I have to go. I’ll call you later.”
I grabbed my bag and rushed out.
⸻
Zachary was already waiting for me at the hospital.
The moment I saw him, my stomach twisted with fear.
He looked serious.
Too serious.
I walked toward him slowly.
“Zachary…”
He looked at me.
“Are you okay?”
I nodded, even though I wasn’t.
I placed a hand over my stomach.
There was a tiny life growing inside me.
A life that already felt precious.
But I didn’t know if Zachary felt the same way.
I stared at him, silently wondering if I was about to lose the man I loved.
And deep inside, one thought kept repeating in my mind:
Should I keep this baby, even if it changes my entire life?
Or should I let go of the only thing that could destroy everything between us?
I swallowed hard.
Whatever happened next…
I knew I might regret it forever.
