Dear Stary,
After reviewing your contract on the internet, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to participate with your platform. While I appreciate the opportunity, there are way too many elements of the contract that concern me.
The full-term grant of rights is more than excessive, and the conditions for terminating the contract are too restrictive. The requirement to repay all earnings over 36 months, especially with the possibility of double repayment for Premium Content, is unreasonable.
Additionally, the required writing pace for bonuses—such as producing 50,000 words per month and posting daily chapters—is unrealistic for me. The threat of another writer taking over my work if I fall behind only adds unnecessary pressure.
The lack of transparency in payment schedules and financial reporting is also an issue. Without clear timelines for payments and detailed accounting, I’m not confident I would receive fair compensation.
The first refusal clause on future works is too open-ended, lacking both a set timeline and the ability to decline an offer.
Finally, the confidentiality requirements and breach penalties are restrictive, limiting my freedom to discuss my experience.
Due to these issues, I must decline.
Best regards,
Lexi
