Dear Stary,

I appreciate the opportunity, but after reviewing the contract, I’ve decided not to participate. There are several issues that make me uncomfortable with the agreement.

The rights clause, which extends for the full copyright term, is too restrictive, especially given the limited ability to terminate. Requiring authors to repay their earnings over 36 months, or double for Premium Content, is unreasonable.

Additionally, the required output for bonuses—50,000 words per month and daily chapter updates—is unmanageable for me. The risk of another writer taking over my work if I fall behind is also too stressful.

The lack of transparency around payment schedules and deductions is concerning, as it creates uncertainty about fair compensation.

The first refusal clause for future works, without a clear timeline or the flexibility to decline, is another issue that could create long delays.

Finally, the confidentiality requirements and breach penalties are too restrictive, limiting my freedom to discuss my experience and leaving me uncomfortable with the terms.

For these reasons, I’m declining the offer.

It’s getting ridiculous that i have to keep doing this and not just delete them irregardless of pending application for contract. This is unacceptable. Ugh.
