Dear Stary,
Thank you for considering me, but after reviewing your contract, I’ve decided not to proceed with your platform. There are several key issues that make participation difficult for me.
The full-term rights grant is too restrictive, especially given the limited ability to terminate the contract and the harsh conditions for exiting. Requiring authors to repay all earnings over 36 months—particularly at double for Premium Content—is too rigid.
The required output for bonuses, such as writing 50,000 words per month and posting daily, is unsustainable. The additional pressure of having another writer take over my work if I fall behind is unreasonable.
Furthermore, the lack of transparency around payment schedules and revenue reporting makes it difficult to trust that compensation will be fair or timely.
The first refusal clause for future works, without a defined timeline or the ability to decline, is also problematic and could lead to prolonged delays.
Lastly, the confidentiality clauses and penalties for breach are overly strict, limiting my creative freedom and making me uncomfortable with the agreement overall.
For these reasons, I must decline your offer.
