We came out of the portal to a narrow pathway that lead uphill slightly and had houses towering over it on either side. The guards were hiding in this part because, with the amount of money they get paid, the king wouldn’t think to look for them somewhere that was really below their wage. What an i***t.
The houses didn’t look poor at all. They were built nicely and looked really cosy on the inside. Although, quite narrow, they look like they made decent starter homes. There were a few vampire children playing in the streets who looked slightly intimidated by us as we walked. I will admit we probably did look quite scary.
