CHAPTER 18: LORD CHAD

Chad drove through familiar and routes remembering the times he had with Aine, he couldn't help it will miss him already.

He arrived at Mealth but became a bit worried almost immediately, the streets were empty, no playing children, no store nor business was opened, it was very strange, the people of Mealth never knows or obeys holidays because they think time is money. Chad stretched his hands across the passenger seat to pick up his gun, ready to shoot anything in sight.

He got to Aine's house the gate was widely open

" What's going on?" he asked himself as he prepared to go in after parking the car outside the gate.

He got down with the gun in his hand as walked quietly pointing the gun ahead of himself

" Mother!" he called out as he opened the door but there was no response.

" Lord Nevin!" he called out again but there was no reply, everywhere was dead silent.

The entire house was dark but he could hear footsteps around

" Who's there?" he asked

" Would you stop moving around he will be here any minute" a voice whispered

" My leg hurts, how can I not move it" another voice replied

" Come out now before I put a bullet into your brain" Chad said about to pull the trigger, " I'll give you 5 seconds, if you don't come out by that time, whatever happens to you it's your fault 5 4 3 2 1"

" SURPRISE" Everybody shouted as the light and the curtains were raised. The house the filled with the Mealth clan, Chad was shocked as a reaction he pulled the trigger by mistake

" Chad" his mother called out as she quickly rushed towards him, luckily he didn't shoot anyone

" What the hell, why would you throw this kind of surprise party? I could have started shooting right from outside" he pointed out.

" We knew that's could happen, that's why we kept the doors opened" his mother said hugging him.

" I still do not understand the reason for such a party mother, I didn't just come back from prison, I'm coming from the palace" he said as he stared at everyone present.

" We know that but today you are no longer going to step into Mealth as just Chad because from now on you're going to be addressed as Lord Chad" Lord Nevin spoke which made him a little bit more confused than he was.

" Lord Chad? Mother? What's going on?'' he asked needing clarification.

" I think Aine can explain better" he said passing him the phone, Aine was already on a video call with a big smile plastered on his face.

" Surprise! I know you are shocked about the news but it's true, father and I have decided it will be best for you to be the new chief of the Mealth clan without a doubt" he said explaining.

" I know you are going to be an amazing leader" he added

" But Aine, I don't know how to even tie my own shoes, how can I lead our clan?" He asked still in disbelief, when Aine told him he had present he could never had imagined this.

" On that note, that's why I am here. I'm going to teach you everything step by step and with my guidance you are going to do just great" Lord Nevin encouraged

" See everything is already sorted out, all you just need to do is accept it" Aine added. Chad looked at his mother and the faces of the entire clan that has decided to come celebrate their new leader.

" So what's it going to be?" Lord Nevin asked, Chad couldn't help but tear up once again he couldn't believe he was going to be the chief of the entire clan.

" Yes" he said finally with a smile.

" And we are having a new leader, all hail Lord Chad" announced one of the men present. Everyone bowed their heads acknowledging their soon to be leader. Chad couldn't believe that he was the new leader of the clan and he was the one going to lead the clan of Mealth into a better future.

" You're going to do great" Aine said "and I'm definitely coming for your coronation" he added smiling.

" Thank you" Chad replied

" There's no need to thank me, You are my family and I love you, now stop crying before people think their leader is nothing but a cry baby, you should start acting tough and strong, the people of Mealth are not easy to lead" he pointed out.

" I promise you will never be disappointed, I'll make you proud".

" I know that, that's why I chose you as our leader, take care of yourself" he said with a smile before ending the call.

" Now with that done let's all celebrate" the music was turned on and everybody got on the dance floor.

Chad's mother took him by the hand leading him outside far away from the music and people.

" For a minute there I thought you wanted to reject the position offered to you but you made me proud by accepting it" she said with a mischievous smile.

" Mother was that the reason you dragged me out here?" Chad asked.

" Of course, I'm so glad you are the new Lord, I have been thinking of how to get you into this position for the longest time and the opportunity just presented itself forward. I can't believe it happened without me even lifted a finger, you're now the Lord of the clan" his mother said.

" Mother, How many times would I tell you to get rid of that crazy idea from your head, I don't care about power or money as long as I'm with my family and the people I love nothing else really matters to me"

" Would you keep your mouth shut Chad, you're just saying that just because Aine is your best friend and you've known him for a very long time, I'm sure now that you get a little taste of power you want more and never want to let it go" she pointed out

" You of all people should know me better than this, power is the last thing I want and all I want is for Mealth to become better than any other clan in entire regions, you know the way King Fitz put us down, that's going to change because I will change everything and make sure everyone becomes higher class than any other clan" Chad said

" And one last thing, get over this idea of power and money. That seat was given to me in order to improve our clan and not to misuse the power and wealth for myself" he said before walking off leaving his mother to her thought of what just happened.

Cessiar opened his eyes and found himself in a dark room with a very dim light, he sat on the floor wondering where he was and how he got there, the last thing he remembered was sleeping together with Fitz on the same bed.

" Fitz" he called out but he got no reply, he stood staring, he couldn't see anything with the dim light.

" Fitz" he called out one more time.

" Is Fitz the only person you care about?" a very familiar voice spoke

" Father" he whispered before turning around towards the direction of the sound yet he couldn't see anyone.

" Fitz!" he called out as he was becoming scared

" Cessiar" a tiny calm voice called out his name, a voice he haven't heard in years, just the sound of the voice gave him goosebumps. He lifted his head forward and could see a figure standing in a distance not far off from him, he couldn't decide whether to move forward or stay back but the figure wasn't going to wait for him to make up his mind before approaching him, the figure kept walking closer towards him, he still couldn't make out the face of the person, he wanted to really find out where this was going.

" Who are you?" he asked hoping not to be the person he was thinking it was.

" How could you forget me, it's me" the voice replied still walking closer to him, Cessy couldn't help but feel chills running down his spine as the figure walked closer.

" Cessiar" the voice called out again,

" That's enough, this is no longer funny, Fitz!" He yelled

" Cessiar, please help me" the voice added in great distress as as she got closer to where he stood. Immediately he could see her face and it was the face of someone he missed.

" Mother'' he whispered as he stared in disbelief Cessiar's mother died when he was just seven years old and ever since that moment his father decided to lay all his frustrations of losing his beloved wife on him.

" No this isn't real, this can't be real! you can't be real!" He said to himself, as he took a step backwards with tears falling down his face, he wouldn't be able to remember what she looked like if he didn't have pictures of her.

" It's me, Cessy please help me, he's going to kill me" she cried as tears rolled down her eyes, that very second the tears turned into blood, which made him became more scared and didn't know what to do, he was stuck to the floor as his mother walked closer to him, he could feel a burning sensation around his body, he didn't know what else to do

" Please don't come closer" he said that he continue struggling to move

" son help me, he's a monster" his mother said as she kept moving close

" No, no don't come close to me you are dead" he said as his lower limbs decided to give up on him right there and then, he fell to the ground, using his hands to cover up his eyes in order not to see her anymore. Almost immediately he couldn't hearing her voice or weeping anymore he removed his hands from his eyes and couldn't see anybody.

Cessy turned around and it was just him all alone in the same darkness where he had woken up earlier, he could only hear his heart beating real fast. He immediately stood up about to walk away when he suddenly felt a pair of hands around his neck you

" Do think you can escape, everyone is dying in all because of you, you are a loser" he could hear his father's voice, Cessy tried fighting back to free himself.

" You're not my son, how many times do I have to tell you. You're a monster, you are useless even Fitz, you claim to love left you" he continued still straggling him

" Help! help me!" Cessy I cried out as he couldn't breathe anymore.

" Cessy! Cessy! Cessy!" he immediately opened his eyes to see Fitz staring at him with a worried face, Cessy was covered in both tears and sweat,

" It's alright, it was only a dream" he said hugging Cessy, he could feel him running a very high temperature

" Cessy, you have a fever" Fitz said worried but Cessy refused to let him go

" I can't just sit here with you, you're burning up, I want to get drugs so you feel better" Fitz explained

" I want you to stay here with me, you're all I need" he said holding onto Fitz arm, after a while he fell asleep in Fitz's arms, he carefully placed him on the bed and grabbed a bowl of clean water and a towel to bring down Cessy's temperature.

Fitz careful removed Cessy shirt because he was drenched in sweat, almost immediately his eye came in contact with the bruises on

Cessy's body, he knew very well Cessy wasn't going to tell him the truth about what happened but liar as usual in order to protect whoever did it.

But Fitz wasn't going to look past it anymore he grabbed his phone and took a couple of pictures, he turned Caesar to his back so he could assess it and was shocked when he saw the huge bruise on his back, he also took pictures, after which he brought Cessy's temperature down and then changed his clothes to something warm, he then woke him up in order to take drugs before watching him fall back asleep again, Fitz was filled with rage, he specifically told Eldon to make sure nothing happened to Cessy but here it was worse than how he left. Cessy gradually opened his eyes, he could feel his head banging and his mouth a bit bitter, he raised his head he could see Fitz sleeping soundly with his arms around him. Here was all he ever wanted he wished time could stop so they can be together forever.

He snuggled himself more into Fitz's chest while falling asleep again.

" What do you mean by beating? no one would ever dare to touch Cessy here" Eldon said trying to explain, he was beginning to get pissed by what he was hearing

" Well I took a couple of pictures in order to prove that he indeed got beaten, I know what I'm saying yesterday he came to me all dressed up and covered in makeup but due to his fever last night I had to change his clothes and that's when I found the bruises not only was he beaten, he was almost strangled to death in your house!! Is this how you take care of your brother you claim to love?" he asked he was more than mad but at the same time he was trying not to get too loud so as not to wake Cessy up

" Did you try asking him?"

" You know Cessy, he wouldn't say anything he always covers things up because he doesn't want anyone to be in trouble" Fitz replied

" I assure you, I will look into this" Eldon reassured

" Good and if you don't do anything about it, I'll have to take matters into my own hands and trust me it would be funny when I do" he said before hanging up the call.

Eldon had an idea of who the monster that hurt his baby brother was but he didn't want to act in haste as not to cause another harm to Cessiar.
