CHAPTER 17: AINE'S PEOPLE

After biding Chad farewell Aine thought it wise to go see Fitz even though he didn't want to, he walked into the court house taking a deep breath waiting to be tore into several parts by Fitz.

" You sent for me" Aine said as he gave a bow before Fitz

" Yes I did and what took you so long where you waiting for an elephant to lay an egg before you answer my call?" Fitz inquired

" I was abo..."

" You know what I don't need to hear it, I would care less about anything that concerns you" he cut Aine off his statement.

* Disrespectful imbecile* Aine cursed underneath his breath

" What did you just say?" Fitz asked

" I said, you look so gracious today" he said with a smile, Fitz gave him a frown

" Well then, don't just stand there sit" Fitz spoke before turning to Zac's direction

" Now this is Zac, I know aren't quite familiar with him yet but he's our royal adviser and Zac you should know him" Zac bowed giving Aine a smile which Aine returned back to him

" Well we've decided that you will be holding the banquet of king here at the palace next month, the last weekend of the month." Fitz announced

" What? Could you just back up for a second, I have no idea what the banquet of kings means and you want me to organize it by myself"

" Would you let me finish my statement before attacking me" Fitz said staring at Aine

" Am sorry my Lord go on" Aine sounded rather sarcastic

" You alone will not be able to handle the banquet, that's why you'll be working with Lady Claudette"

" No, not her again" Aine said with him hand running through his hair, just the thought of her gave him goosebumps

" Well it's not my problem if you don't like her, she's the only one I trust to keep you in check, you'll have everything you need at your disposal and we’ll have a royal organizer she's going to be assisting you, do you understand?"

" I did but I have three questions"

" As long as they aren't pointless I’m listening"

" Well first how many people are attending this banquet? I need to be aware in order to organize this"

" Well if a may your highness" Zac said seeking permission from Fitz before speaking, which he granted with a hand gesture

" Thanks my Lord, well from statistics of all the banquet held, the number of Kings in attendance are a total of 25 but there are 250 Kings in total of all the regions.

But when planning, I suggest you plan for 150 Kings because the news of your marriage to Fitz spread like wide fire and the king's would be curious to see you two. Most kings didn't attend the royal wedding because they had a feeling it wouldn't hold but now they will be more curious to see for themselves, I hope that helped."

" Of course, thank you Zac, Second may I know the reason for such a gracious occasion as to prepare towards the theme"

" I would leave that to lady Claudette but all I can say for now is that it had been a tradition ever since I was a little boy" Fitz explained

" Which means you have no idea about the meaning of the banquet, isn't that disappointing"

" Ask you last question before I change my mind "

" Oh my Lord I'm sorry if I upset you with my words of truth, my last questions are about servants, you said this was my duty right which indicates I can choose any one of my choice to help out right?"

" Yes that's the tradition, the queen handles the responsibility" Zac answered

" Alright, may I be allowed to use my people as part of the occasion as well"

" What nonsense are you saying" Fitz asked as the room was beginning to get heated

" How could you term this nonsense? This is about my people and they're also your people because we're married" Aine spoke

" I will never allow such a thing to take place, having just you in the palace keeps me on my toes and now you want to disgrace this kingdom in the present of other kingdoms?"

" Why do you look down on me and people every time?"

" Because nothing ever comes out if Mealth and you're a proof of that, clearly"

" What do you mean by that statement?" Aine inquired, Zac knew he had only two choices to sit and enjoy the show or stop them which was a sacrifice on his part and so he chose to watch the drama as it unfolded slowly.

" You are good for nothing, uneducated, worthless, lazy, barbaric, do you need me to continue?"

" How could you say this about your owm people?"

" They are not my people and would never be my people, they cause problem everywhere they go, just look at us as an example… they backed me up into a corner where I couldn't refuse their request, they destroyed not just my life, you and your so called clan destroyed Cessy's life as well."

" Do you think I wanted to be here too? I made sacrifices too?''

" Oh really? Like what, let me hear them?" Fitz said as he stared at Aine to continue with his statement. Aine on the other hand was too angry to continue talking about this same subject all over again.

" I don't give a damn if you burn down the entire kingdom to the ground but I assure you that my people are going to take part in this banquet, mark my words" Aine said as he got up to leave.

" Don't you dare walk out on me, we are still talking"

" You call that talking but I call it nuisance, I’m not going to hold the banquet if my people aren't involved, you can as well organize the whole thing by yourself and that's it for this discussion your highness" he added before leaving

" Did he just walk out on me and called me a nuisance? And you… this is all your fault, how dare you tell him to choose anyone?" Fitz asked Zac who had no idea of what to say to calm Fitz at this point.

" But your highness that's the law" Zac tried to explain

" The law? I want you to see to it that he doesn't bring any Mealth into the palace"

" But my Lord that's almost impossible, at the banquet the queen has the power to choose whoever they may need for the banquet"

" I don't care what it’s says but I want it done" Fitz concluded before leaving Zac

Cessiar was in pain due to the hit he had earlier, he decided to apply first-aid by himself before Fitz was done with his meeting with Aine, he sat facing the mirror trying to get a better view to know where to apply the cream but his hands were a bit too short, he tried reaching for the bottle of ointment and the bottle of ointment fell from his hands but before hitting the ground a pair of hands grabbed it.

" I can help you" a familiar voice spoke which made Cessiar relieved

" Thank you Aine, you're done with Fitz?”

" You could say that, I wanted to ask you a few things about the banquet when I saw you struggling alone"

" I’m all ears"

" Before we talk about that, what happened to you, this look a bit bad" immediately Cessiar turned to Aine

“It's nothing, I fell in the shower this morning I thought I was sober but turns out I wasn't" he lied,

" I understand, that has happened to me a few times already, Trust me it the fall that brings you back to your senses" Aine said which made Cessiar laugh.

" Sometimes I wonder how you could make such jokes in a serious situations" Cessiar said still laughing

" Well seeing smiles on people's faces just like yours is very heart warming" Aine replied

" I never took you for a sweet talker"

" Who? Me? Swee tte talker?"

" Yes, sweet talker, like good at compliment and making people feel good"

" Ohhh, noo I’m just saying the truth, every time you smile I’m pretty sure the sun and the moon shines brighter"

" Thank you" Cessiar said blushing before turning towards the mirror

" Anyways I don't think we can talk about the reason why I came here because you look like you’re in so much pain"

" I’m alright, why is it anytime I say I’m alright, it seems like nobody ever believes me, do I look that weak?"

" You're not weak at all, anyone who could do all these royal task are actually hero, today was my official first day and trust me I want to drop the crown already" Aine spoke as he applied the ointment for Cessy

" You'll get used it" Cessy said with a smile

" You look a lot like your brother, both have the same smile"

" You've met Eldon?"

" Yes at the reception hall, he was just as friendly as you" Aine said as he recalled Eldon

" Well that's new, my brother nice" Cessiar said rolling his eyes

" He mentioned you two don't get along well"

" Of course we don't, he's views on life is just crazy and the rest is a bit personal, if you don't mind." Cessiar said as he put on his shirt

" I understand, you've told me a lot about yourself and you know nothing about me"

" That's not true I know a lot about you as well"

" Since when did my chamber become one for discussions" Fitz spoke as he entered

" I guess that's time up, we'll talk tomorrow" Aine said to Cessiar not acknowledging Fitz presence.

" Alright I look forward to it." Fitz watched Aine leave.

" You should know I don't like him entering into my space"

" Fitz we've talked about this, I can't just hate him because you do and to be quite honest I don't see why you hate him so much"

" I don't want to explain this to you anymore"

" Then good"

" Great" Fitz said as he sat on the other side of the bed

** 5 4 3 2 1 *** Cessiar counted underneath his breath, he knew something was upsetting Fitz as he walked into the room and seeing Aine made it worse

" But I just want you to hear this"

" I knew something was wrong, I’m all ears"

" Aine want his people to be part on the banquet"

" That's marvelous, he's going to get all the help he needs" Cessy said with a smile

" What, I mean Mealth in the main palace and in front of other Kings, No Cessiar, no"

" I thought you wanted to host so you don't go to the honeymoon and so you could stay away from Aine" Cessy said hiding his laugher because he knew Fitz would explode if he dared laugh

" That's what I wanted but having Mealth in my house, I would rather die"

" Fitz, it's not that bad I know you don't like them but give them a chance that's the reason Aine got married to you in the first place to show you, the other clans and kingdom that Mealths are just misunderstood, Trust me as a good leader you should give your people an equal listening ear, did I speak well?"

" Yes but I can't imagine myself and them in one room or even eating something they touched" Fitz said with an irritated face.

" I will love to see how you would change Aine mind, this would be fun to watch"

" I’m not changing his mind, I’m the King, his going to go exactly what I say".
