Rose’s P.o.v

I froze up, did Kari just step in for me or is he really doing this for himself? I was shocked when he threw him so hard against a tree, more shocked that the tree didn’t fall on impact, and shocked to the maximum degree when my father whined. Even with my attacks he didn’t whine, he only shrugged off the pain of my claws that weren’t at his level. He struggled to get up which I couldn’t understand, in all of my life I’ve never seen my father struggle with anything at all, it's hard to think my father has met his match against my mate. ‘A most appropriate mate for you if he can make me struggle.’ Father’s voice rang through my head, of course he could read my thoughts like some witch. I noticed her change in feeling, and I looked at her knowing what she was feeling. Is she seriously horny in the middle of me fighting her father? She nodded and took off running toward the house, "ohh a race huh? Well bring it!" I took off running toward her, quickly catching up to her then slowly starting to pull ahead of her. 

Kai's P.o.v

20 minutes earlier

I wake up facing the wall, odd. I was usually holding Belli and the baby when I woke up, I sat up and looked around the room. I spot Belli on the couch and I immediately feel awful, if I was taking up the bed or making her feel uncomfortable in any way she should have woke me up. I'd have moved to the couch so she could be comfortable, I get up and pull on some shorts then tip toe over to the couch. I reach down to tap on Belli's shoulder when I notice someone out of place, Sunflower? 'Rose?' I used the mond link, but alas to no response. I tense when I feel her emotions, "eww.. I pause and scratch my head, "well honey, they are a bit busy… I'm about to go see that girl that showed up last night, do you wanna come and ask about your other daddy?" I know Rose and Kari would kill me if they found out I took Sunflower with me… but I think this little girl needs closure about what happened that night. "Yes." I nodded as I walked into my closet, "do you want to change first, or go in your PJ's?" I pulled on a shirt and shoes. "I just need my shoes and coat." I smile a bit as I walk out of the closet, people assume that little kids mean exactly what they say, but it's not always the case. She cannot pronounce 'jacket' right and gets frustrated when attempting to say it, so she just says coat. We get ready and manage to turn the corner to the front door when my father walks in, blood? He notices me and Sunflower and smiles as he collapses on the floor, "FATHER!" I ran over to him and helped him up. "What happened to you?" I help him to the nearest seat and noticed Sunflower gone, "your mother told me what happened with Rose when I came back from the pack that needed help, so a few hours ago I took her into the southwestern forest to help her learn to get control on Lucifer. She succeeded, but refused to back down." I glared at him, he fought Rose even though he knows she can't hold her own against him? "...threw me against a tree, hit me with a tree and managed to do all this damage." "Wait what? Who threw you against a tree and all this?" Father paused and looked me in the eye, "Kari." I nodded, it was only natural for a mate to protect their other half. "Rose is still too young to face you and beat you, she can barely lay any attack on mom. I may be your son, but I feel ashamed that you would fight a little girl you knew would not be a threat. All you had to do was knock her down, stand on her throat and forced her to shift back. She wouldn't have killed herself over pride." Sunflower and Émeline or Artemis followed her, I can never remember their names. "Oh goodness!" She called out, she walked over to father and started the healing process. "Ready to see her?" I asked Sunflower, she nodded and started walking to the front door. "Thank you Émeline." I heard father say as we walk to the front door, "Sunflower, this lady could be dangerous… are you sure you still want to go?" Sunflower stared ahead of her and glared at the door in front of her like it was her enemy. "Yes. I want to know why her kind killed my people." I could only look at her, rather impressed… she may be six years old but she is really strong and smart for her age.

Kari's P.o.v

On our way to school, I feel butterflies in my stomach again. I've read somewhere that that feeling is the baby kicking in early stages of pregnancy, usually women feel that around 14 weeks along. Perhaps because me and my mate are supernatural creatures, the pregnancy is a bit more advanced than a humans, I'm barely two months pregnant and I'm already starting to show. "What's wrong Belli? You have an odd look on your face." Kari said from the driver seat, Rose looked at me from the passenger seat. "Oh I do? Kari raised his eyebrows and looked at me in the rearview mirror, "already? That's quick… usually we feel babies kicking at the 4 month mark.." Rose seemed to pause and think about it, "well when mom was pregnant with Kai she felt him start kicking at the start of the 3 month mark. Perhaps your baby is kicking around the 3 month mark like its father." I seemed to relax while hearing this, because Rose turned back to face the road and Kari looked at the road. I felt lonely in this backseat, Kai had left me a note when I woke up that he would arrive at school before the assembly, I looked for him but couldn't find him. Instead of trying to track him by his blood, I just left with Kari and Rose… as we pulled into the school parking lot I felt like faking some nausea so Kari would take me home. To my surprise Kari turned off the car and stepped out, he opened my car door for me and held out his hand. I sighed and took his hand, he helped me out and shut the door behind me, then locked the doors to the vehicle… "lets go. Don't be nervous." He smiled and wrapped an arm around my shoulders, pulling me toward the school entrance with Rose walking on my other side. "Walking my dear sister inside, I'm going to be part of this assembly so I'll be around all day." "Prince Kari!" Astrid's voice called out behind us, we all turned to look at her and I shook my head, forgetting they were following us as guards. "It's done."
