Chapter 2

1053 Words
Axius is a member of my pack and a warrior well known for most vampire kills, he also happened to be my ex boyfriend and first love. He was tall, had mocha skin, blonde and had grey eyes normally but they were quickly darkening to pitch black and back, struggling to contain his anger he stared at Belli and I. "... She will not be coupled with a vampire, even if it's the last thing I do I'll prevent that from happening. Besides she has a mate out there somewhere…" He winced at that last part, I knew it pained him knowing I'd belong to someone else, but he had accepted it when I realized we weren't mates. He started to walk away but looked over his shoulder at me before disappearing in the woods "and I promise that your mate will be wolf or I kill him." And he stalked away, I turned to look at Belli and she looked pissed and her eyes were also shifting colors, see with vampires there are three colors their eyes can turn. One being their birth given eye color, red and dark purple. And hers were filling with purple, and she looked like she was about to go crazy. Vampires are shifters as well but the difference is they like killing other shifters for their blood, and no other shifters do that. "Rosey… can I kill him? Or will you object?" She said as her fangs came out slowly and her arms starting to turn black, showing she was on the verge of shifting, I put a hand on her shoulder and she looked up at me shuddering "I would object, he's a good warrior and we need him for protection and border patrolling… how about this, we go to subway and I buy you whatever you want?" I ask to soothe her even just a little, knowing that Subway was her favorite place to eat, her eyes immediately went from purple to green again and she hugged me. "Oh yes please!" I chuckled and took her to Subway. We spent the rest of the day together and she stayed the night with me, the thought of her brother coming completely forgotten. Four days pass and we're all nervous about the prince, future vampire king coming to the school and everyone was on edge, even the humans were nervous about her brother coming and they didn't even know he was a vampire. The one most tense about it was Meadow Brook Stream, a deer shifter that stood a tall 6'3, had light tanned skin, had warm brown eyes. Meadow was especially tense and afraid because her parents were killed by vampires, but was also afraid that she'd be killed as well since deer shifters were well known to have the best and sweetest blood. "How can you stand to be around Belli at all Rose? She's a vampire! Don't you know wolf shifters are second on the list of best blood, aren't you scared? What if he-he is here to help his sister m******e the school?" I roll my eyes at her a bit annoyed with her behavior, she's known me for all our lives and she usually trusts me but can't get past the fear she has for vampire's. I pulled her in close and whisper "Meadow please, Belli hates blood and prefers human food. And she claims her brother is the same way, so I trust her fully. I mean what has she done to prove she's not to be trusted other than being born the way she was? She didn't have a say in that, it wasn't her fault. So why don't you get over your pointless phobia and roll with it?" In all honesty I don't hate Vampires, I feel bad for how every other shifter blames them for how they were made. It's not their fault they suck blood, it's much like saying it's a werewolves fault for being able to shift and run faster than any human could dream of. I was brought out of my thoughts when my head snapped to the side, pain in my cheek told me I was slapped and saw Meadow's hand still up glaring down at me, everyone around stopped and stared at us. Everyone was surprised at her behavior, Meadow was a shy quiet gal that kept to herself, the only reason we're friends is because her parents were friends of mine. I find her timid nature a bit of a mood killer. "Are you suggesting that we make friends with the enemy? I saw what went through your mind written all over your face, you feel bad for them being born the way those bloodsuckers were and compared that to all of us other shif-" Axius quickly covered her mouth and whispered "... Are you stupid little deer? There are humans watching you both! Now if your gonna argue about our kind take it outside. That goes for you too Rose, you're our future head of the pack. Act responsibly and don't kill her, sound good?" As he glanced my way he bowed his head and mumbled sorry, I was glaring daggers at him and was starting to shake but still had control over my eyes turning pitch black. "Who are you to order me around and advise me like your my nanny? Watch how you talk to me or you answer to my father, or better yet… your mother too. Got it?" He tensed and dropped on the floor as his legs gave out for a second but quickly sprung up and left with another mumbled sorry. I turned to Meadow and she looked just as angry as she had before Axius shushed her, "follow me outside, let us talk and pray I don't murder you for hitting an Alpha's daughter." I grinned at the thought still very angry and my wolf took over for me, Meadow finally realized the wolf was in control and she backed down "now look Rosey… you've known me all our lives, you wouldn't kill me would you?" I just let out a cold laugh and smiled more "wanna bet your life on that weak faith, little girl?" She then ran down the hallway faster than she ever had.
