Chapter 3

I felt someone touch my hand, turned and saw Belli looking at me with concern "hell Rosey, you let Lucifer out to play? Naughty naughty, at least you didn't meet your mate in a fit of rage." She whispered to me with a charming smile, my wolf named Lucifer just stared at her and slowly retreated to the back of my mind without a single word. I calmed down and she pulled me out of the school for a breather, she glanced at me a few times but didn't say anything until we were a good distance away from humans and looked at me, "alright Rosey, tell me everything that just happened with Meadow. I know you don't like her much but you never let Lucifer deal with a situation like… ever." I explained the part Axius got involved and I saw a small flare of purple in her eyes at his name and understood why I lost control with Lucifer. She stared at the sky for a while, I watched it with her hoping to spot a Phoenix flying high and bright in the sky even though they're very rare. "Rosey do you remember the legend of the moonlit bats I told you about when we first met?" I looked at her a bit concerned, she never talked about vampires so the fact she brought up a legend was out of character for her. "Umm… yeah sort of, isn't it like how bats came into existence and how they're related to your family since your descended of the original vampire family?" She smiled and closed her eyes "yeah, sorta… the moonlit bats were created by the moon gods and goddesses as a way to defend the sky and land alike, they were also lonely watching the Sun's children, humans and animals,  in the world and created children if their own, much like the human's version of Neanderthals and the other kind of human. First came the vampire shifters, and there were the other shifters, when the vampire family started destroying humans and animals alike, the moon gods and goddesses got angry their children were destroying the Sun's children and made a way for us to be destroyed by creating the other shifters in existence today, they all united to exhaust our kind nearly to extinction. Those remaining quickly fled and lived in caves far away or blended in with the humans, that's all I'd told you. But there is more to it, it's a bit of a prophecy and legend wrapped in one bit, it says that when the female wolf of the strongest Alpha in history is born, her fate is to marry the next vampire king and forever bring the shifters together, however if she rejects her special bonded one, all chaos breaks loose… many will die and none will survive in the very end." I looked at her not sure how to react to that then it hit me, my father is the strongest Alpha in all wolf history up to date and I'm his daughter. "W-wai um tell me… are you saying this prophecy is real and referring to me and family and yours? Your…. Older brother and I being mates? And not only that, but if I reject him all shifters are gonna go extinct, or do humans also die?" She laughed and poked my side "come on Rosey, you know I don't believe in all that old phooey. I just wanted to tell you 'cause it's been on my mind since my brother told me he was coming to town." She looked pretty convincing but she was still holding back a secret, but I didn't press for answers even when my wolf was now telling me that I needed answers and to be careful. I looked up to the sky wondering what I should do with this information when I noticed something I'd never seen in my whole life and never thought I'd see as long as I breathed, a Phoenix flying above us.
