Chapter 15

Kari's P.o.v

Kai and Belli left after father said that, Rose just stared at father and I stood up. "Father you can't do that, you must serve till your last breath as the oath says. You can't just retire early, you always say yourself to keep the tradition." Father looked at the ceiling and then looked at me, and smiled a little and looked at mother. "Both of my children broke tradition already, being mated to wolves and having children with them is broken enough, I won’t get into other traditions we’ve broken over the years. So I’ll see you home by next week and you will be crowned the new vampire king, your queen will make things easier. An adopted daughter might have troubles there, especially if she is not at all a vampire or have it in her blood. Though from the smell of it she has had some in her family a few generations ago, but not close enough you can tell right away, that’s what is probably making her smell so off. And… I have a question for all of you since no one had mentioned it, when were you going to tell me my daughter was pregnant?” 

Kai’s P.o.v

Suddenly I sat up and looked over at Belli, she was tossing and turning in her sleep and I had the sudden urge to hold her close and protect her. Then I finally realized why I was feeling like that, Rose felt threatened and felt like she had to protect Belli. I looked at the door then growled for no real reason, other then that weird feeling Rose sent me. A weird noise on the other side made me pick Belli and hide her in my secret entrance, not a second after I shut the secret entrance door my bedroom door opened and was ripped from the henges. There stood vampire king Saint Lucien watching me, behind him I heard Rose’s snarl as she shoved him in the room and quickly stood in front of me blocking the entrance where I hid Belli and she glanced at me with an apologetic smile as he lunged for her, faster than I’ve ever seen her shift, she did and lunged for him catching him and tearing a leg off his body. He only gritted his teeth and dug his claws into her left front paw which made her whine out in pain. That was enough to make me lose it, apparently Kari lost it too because as soon as I blinked he appeared and ripped his father’s hands off, “SHE’S MINE, YOU WON’T HURT WHAT’S MINE EVER AGAIN.” Before he could do anything else I ran over and stomped on his throat, before Kari ended it. Before I knew it I was carrying Rose’s wolf downstairs to Sunflower, she came running the second she saw us and looked at Rose. “What happened? Is she okay? I need to heal her!” Sunflower looked at Rose’s wolf and patted her leg, Lucifer whimpered and licked Sunflowers arm. ‘No, Sunflower no don’t harm yourself to heal me.’ I heard Lucifer say softly in the link between us, “Sunflower she doesn’t want you to heal her, she doesn’t want you to harm yourself to heal her.” Kari put his hand on my shoulder and looks at me. “She has already started the healing process, she can’t hear you. There is no way to stop her now… it’s times like this I'm glad my daughter can heal or else Rose and Lucifer would be suffering right now…" his words trailed off as he watched Sunflower's glowing eyes, and listened to her chanting, I find myself mesmerised by her healing spell. Suddenly Rose's wolf shifted and came Rose healed and nude, after the green glow disappeared Sunflower fell back but sat up panting, Kari went into the kitchen and brought back some water and fruit for Sunflower. Axius came in the room with the familiar short woman, "what on earth is going on?" 

Belli's P.o.v

I woke up then jumped up and pushed the wall out of my way to run to the bathroom and throw up, after getting sick I flushed then washed my mouth out and wash my hands, walking out into the room two things finally dawned on me. Firstly I was in the secret entrance, I don't remember being in there at all, then noticed a body on the floor with blood pouring out of the neck where the head was supposed to be. Feeling sick again I run out of the room to the other bathroom only to be more sick in there, after flushing the toilet and washing my mouth again I heard the shout from downstairs and sighs hearing her voice again. I walk downstairs and am shocked to see Kari holding an unconscious Rose that's nude, and see Sunflower being picked up and put on her feet by Artemis, then see Émeline appear out of nowhere, then she approached Artemis. "She's got to slow down on the healing, she needs to master the basics before healing. Thankfully it wasn't that bad, now listen Sunflower and listen well… if you keep healing without mastering the basics you will damage your body and die one day, are you understanding me?" Émeline said to Sunflower, Artemis followed her speech with a stern head nod. I walked over to them and everyone paused to look at me, "she understands, but she can't let her new mom be hurt and she didn't want to wait for one of you two to get here. It took me a long time to figure it out, but Sunflower, the reason you push yourself to help others is because you weren't accepted by your original pack, and couldn't heal your real mother when she died… so if you help you won't lose people or be alone again isn't it?" I sat down reaching her level and see her tear filled eyes, she nodded and hugged me tightly. Hugging back I watched Kai walk up to us then pull all of us to him and smiles sadly, "this pack will always be accepting of you sweetie, you'll never be an outcast here. And Belli? I knew you'd make an amazing mom and this only strengthened my belief." 

Kari's P.o.v

It's hard to think not only a week ago those witches appeared, which was a strange encounter ‘"Artemis and Émeline, those are our names, we heard about a certain hybrid from your pack doctor needing teachers for her witch half." The short round woman on the right had said, her long black hair highlighted against her sea-blue eyes, I look deep into her eyes and crossed my arms “and why should I trust either of your words? Her parents are dead and were murdered by shifters, you don’t smell like a shifter but your companion does.” I pointed at the tall woman, she had carmel skin tone and had piercing gray eyes that didn’t seem like they missed much, she stepped forward and put her hands on her hips staring at him with a determined look and tilted her head “was this child a wolf witch hybrid?” She spoke with a french accent, making me look twice, “yes, why do you ask shifter?” I asked annoyed with her and her companion for bringing a shifter along, seeing her grin she gave her hat to the short woman and, much to my surprise, shifted into a wolf then disappeared. I looked around frantically but couldn’t find her, her friend grinned then pointed behind me, I turned around and saw her walking over, and again to my surprise, her clothes were intact and she didn’t show any sign of the shift other then being behind me’. I shuddered at the memory of it and watched them all in wonder, I still feel that my daughter is lucky for having such mentors to teach and guide her, she needs it when she's older and those powers wake up to its full potential, she can protect and heal those she calls family and herself without harm. As much damage as she takes when she heals others is ungodly, Artemis came over to me, I look down at her as she pokes me to get my attention, “you and Rose should talk to Sunflower, she won’t behave us if she thinks its okay to go healing everyone she likes. When is Rose going to be well enough to talk to her?” Before I can respond Belli comes over and pushes the old witch out of the way, and pokes my chest in the way she used to when we were kids, “you have some explaining to do mister, so I woke up to the smell of blood and a body in the room, was that who I think it was?" Artemis glares at her and walks away to check up on Sunflower, I look at Belli and sigh a bit as I put my hands on her shoulders. "Belli, that was dad. He was coming to kill you and Kai, and me and Rose couldn't let it happen… I'm sorry."
