I was snapped from my thoughts while setting up from my mom ‘sweetie come get ready, it’s almost time for them to arrive.’ I finished what little work I had left and ran to our house to shower, dry off get dressed and let mom do my makeup. After she was done with my makeup she patted my knee gently. “Alright done, now what’s on your mind your all quiet over?” I look at my mom, tall standing at 6 feet with black hair and blue eyes with mocha skin. “Well mom… you remember that night that I got lost outside of pack boundaries? And how I was saved by that vampire boy? Did he ever say his name?” I asked hoping she’d know and she thought for a little bit and shrugged “I remember what he looked like but don’t remember a name, why were you thinking of that?” She asked as we walked out of the bathroom, and I shrugged. “Well, as you know, Lucifer took over at school after Axius treated me like a beta he was putting in its place. Then I snapped at Meadow for being unfair to vampires, and I remembered why I didn’t hate vampires and how that boy would probably be in his twenties by now.” As I tell mom this I see my little brother Kai sitting on the living room couch with his arms crossed, obviously upset about something so I sit next to him and bump my shoulder against his. “What’s wrong little bro? Someone piss you off that I have to set straight?” I asked hoping it would cheer him up like always but instead he looked at me and growled, his claws started to come out as his eyes go pitch black “well let us discuss the fact you sent Belli out with Lucas, shall we? You know she is MY mate and you send a hybrid mutt with her instead of me? Your own little brother, you dare betray me sis-” Was all he got out before mom slapped him across the face, she looked angry and Kai looked shocked at her. Like me, he was the spitting image of one of our parents, he looked like our mom except his hair was dad’s. “Son… I know you think she’s your mate but she’s a vampire! She isn’t a mate for yo-” Kai turned and punched the wall hard, and ran out of the house shifting as soon as he was off the steps running to the forest. I quickly ran upstairs grabbing clothes for me and my brother and followed after him shifting after I got to the woods and followed his scent without another look at my mom, after an hour or looking I found him. I shifted back and put my clothes before I sat next to his wolf. “...I know you don’t like me right now little bro… but I sent Lucas with Belli because she hasn’t seen her brother in two years, if I’d have sent you she’d be more nervous and stressed than she was. She knows you two are mates, and if you want to know a secret about Belli you’ll have to shift and put these on to learn it.” He grabbed the clothes and shifted back quickly getting dressed and sitting next to me waiting, then bumped my shoulder with his. “Well Belli is thinking about you marking her as your mate soo-” I stopped mid-sentence, at a smell, such a magnificent and alluring smell that took me off guard, and stood up, a forest after heavy rain with Earl Grey tea and another smell I couldn’t quite name. “What’s wrong sis? Oh sis Belli is nearby, I smell her!” After a few minutes Belli came out of the bushes and hugged Kai “Oh Kai, you and Rosey weren’t at the party and I was sooooooo worried then learned from your mom you were mad about Lucas and please know I don’t like him since I knew we were mates, omg my bad manners, this is my big brother behind me named Kari, anyway what’s going on her- Rosey are you okay?” Belli asked but I didn’t see or hear her at that moment, I could only stare at the man behind her panting softly, “I told you we’d meet again, nice to see you all grown up and to know your name now after all these years but such a shock to figure out we’re....” His voice spoke out with a deep rich tone, I stepped forward forgetting all of my surroundings and stood in front of him. “Mates. We’re mates.”
