What is she doing here??

Was she hurt?

Why is she here??

I stood and was about to walk towards her when I saw a woman walked to meet her and they bought hopped into the car.

I stopped and watched the car zommed off.

"You can go and see Mrs Smith now"! The receptionist said and I turned to meet her.

"Okay"! I muttered and I walked towards the office.

I open the door and I saw my mom sorting files.

"Hey Mom"! I called and she looked up to see who it was.

"Hey son, what brings you here"? She said with a wide smile.

"Something happened to May"! I said and she paled.

"What happened"? She asked, with a worried tone, already picking her bag.

"Come on let's go. I'll tell you when we are on our way". I said and she nodded and we both walked out of the office.

"Were you attending to someone before I came in"? I asked as we both walked briskly to the car.

"Yeah, a girl who has psychological problems". Mom answered nonchalantly.

"Was she wearing a hoodie"? I asked, biting my lower lips nervously.

"Yes, why do you ask"? She said as she stared at me suspiciously.

"Nothing, let's go home". I said as I we both hopped into the car. I turned on the ignition and drove off.

KYRA

As we both walked into the house, we sighted Suzanne sitting down on the couch, watching TV.

"I'll just be upstairs in my room". I said as I tried to walk away. The next thing Suzzane said made me stop.

"If you think you can steal the love of my mother to replace your dead mother then you are wrong". She said indignantly.

I turned to meet her gaze and she was glaring hard at me.

"Suzzane!!! What the hell is wrong with you? Have you gone crazy"?? Auntie Kath yelled at her and she stood up, throwing her hands fratically.

"Mom! For goodness sake, all your attention have always been on this creep ever since she stepped her foot into this house. Why?? Why mom? I'm your daughter! Your attention should be on me and me alone"! She yelled back and Auntie Kath placed her palm on her forehead, looking pissed.

"Is that the reason why you had to insult her? For goodness sake Suzzane, I never raised you to be this inresponsible! What has come over you"?

"And now you are yelling at me mom?? Fine!! Go and meet your lovely daughter and stay away from me"? She yelled back and walked away, pushing me in the process.

I staggered back and steadied myself from falling.

"Suzzane"!!! Auntie Kath yelled, her eyes blazing with anger.

I lowered my gaze to the ground as I felt tears run down my cheek. I hastily wiped the betraying tears with the back of my palm as I turned to walk away when Auntie Kath's voice stopped me.

"I'm so sorry sweetie. I'm really sorry for that. I apologise on her behalf"! Auntie Kath said, with a sorry look on her face and I nodded and walked up to my room.

I threw myself on the bed and cried, wetting my pillow with my tears.

My heart is hurting, breaking into a thousand pieces.

Will I ever a reason to smile again???

I heard Spark whined beside me and I turned my gaze to meet him.

I smiled sadly and I ruffled his fur.

"You are the only reason why I'm still living Spark. You the best gift momma ever gave me". I muttered, wiping the tears that fell.

But the tears kept falling.

"Gosh, this stupid tears"! I growled angrily and began to look for tissues to clean the mess on my face.

HAYDEN

"Mom! May is fine now! I swear"! I said, getting pissed already.

She had been crying since I told her that May almost got rapped.

"Why didn't you take care of her? Why didn't you look after her"? She yelled and me and I rolled my eyes.

"Are we seriously going to start arguing about this"? I said, getting annoyed already.

Did she expect me to follow May everywhere like a dog??

"Please, you both should stop arguing"! We turned to look at May who layed on her bed.

"It's my fault aunt. I'm sorry! He fooled me! Hayden is not at fault". She said and mom sat beside her and ruffled her hair lovingly.

"You should be careful okay? And call me mom"! Mom said, smiling at her.

"You should apologise mom"! I said, tapping my foot on the floor.

"Apologise for what"? Mom asked, giving me a sarcarstic look.

"For blaming me without no reason. You hurt my feelings mom"! I said, feigning hurt and wiping the imaginary tears from my cheeks..

Mom and May burst out laughing. Mom walked towards me and planted a kiss on my cheek and I smirked.

"Apology accepted"? She asked and I smiled.

"Yes mom"! I said, smiling back at her and she pulled my cheeks playfully and I frowned.

I'm not a baby anymore!!!

"Thank God nothing happened to you May". Mom said as she walked back to seat beside May and May smiled.

"Yeah! Thanks to that girl". May said, smiling and I furrowed my brows.

"Which girl"? I asked curiously.

"I don't know her". May said nonchalantly and sipped the tea she was holding.

"Can't you describe her? You should even thank her yunno". I said rolling my eyes at her and she frowned.

"Well, she looked weird. She was wearing a big gray hoodie. She had this beautiful gray eyes that sparkle like jade". May said and my mouth dropped in shock.

"Kyra"?? I half yelled, looking so surprised and mom looked at me.

"Kyra Milson"? My mom asked and I even got more surprised.

"You know her mom"? I asked Mom, with wide eyes and she nodded.

"So tell me, was she the one who saved you and beat up that bastard into a pulp"? I asked and she nodded.

"I had to stop her. She almost killed him"! She said and I frowned.

"I wish she did"!! I growled.

"Mom, what happened"? May asked and I turned to look at mom and I saw her deep in thought.

"I'm just surprised. Kyra is my patient". Mom said and I knitted my brows, looking confused.

"Why is she your patient"? I asked and my mom gave me a sarcarstic look.

"Because she has psychological problems". My mom answered.

Ooooh!!

No wonder she always acts so weird.

"How does she behave in class Hayden"? My mom asked me and I sighed.

"Very quiet, hardly talks, got no friends and she hates someone touching her"! I said and mom sighed.

"You are right! Just as I expected"!

"But mom what happened to her? Why is she like that"? May asked.

"She went through a very very serious traumatic experience. That's the reason why she is like that. Her case is very crucial and I don't even know what to do anymore". Mom said in despair and I sighed.

"What really happened to her mom"? I asked, getting curious...

"I can't tell you. This is Kyra's secret and a secret will it be". Mom said and I frowned.

"So she came alone or her mom came with her"? I asked again.

"Her aunt came with her. Her parents are dead"!!!!

I felt a cold chill ran through my spine.

No wonder she always looked so broken, sad and numb.

It must have been so hard for her.

Suddenly, the urge to protect her and make her smile surged through my bones.

"I feel so bad for her"! May said sadly and Mom nodded in despair.

"Me too"! I muttered silently.
