MY NEIGHBOR

I sigh as I look at my new house.don’t get me wrong.it’s a nice house,but no house can fix what I left behind.After my dad died,my mom was not able to keep up with the rent,cause her salary was barely enough to carter for us, so she had to confide in her friend Ava, who secured a place for us to stay. It was really a hard time for my mom. I’m not very happy about it,having to leave all my close friends and leaving the place where I grew up in is hard. I’m already feeling home sick but hey, I can’t make decisions. “Ava”! hey! This is a really nice house. Thank you so much for helping us out in such short notice.” My mom said to her co worker. At least she is my mom co worker? I would always hear mom and da talking about someone named Ava during dinner time. “It is a nice house! What can I say? You’ve helped me out in unimaginable ways before it’s the least I can do. Do you need me to help you get those boxes?” Ava as she points to the boxes in the U-hall. Thank you Ava, but I think Sophia and I can handle it, right sweetheart? She asked. I nod, and give Ava a small smile. “So you’re Sophia? Ava asked as she give out a hand for me to shake. I took a look at her hand and shake it. “ that’s me” I say with a forced laugh. “Olivia, keep her safe” she jokes with a chuckle.“I would be dumb if I didn’t” my mom replies. I roll my eyes but chuckles along with them. I have no idea how adult can have such interesting small talks. Can we check out the house before we start moving in boxes?” I say” of course let’s go” mom says. As we begin to walk into the house, I begin to be truly amazed, it’s a pretty big house with dark wood flooring for the kitchen, light and fluffy carpet everywhere else and gorgeous lighting. No furniture at all, but that going to change within a few days.with all de useful junks that I have, I beg my mom for the biggest room nd surprisingly she said yes. Once looking around,we walk back outside to begin to carry the boxes in, but Ava is already one step ahead of us. “ carry in few of your boxes and begin to set up your clothes and closets. Ava and I have the rest” my mom says before I manage to grab anything else. “Okay” I reply and grab two boxes and my sparkly backpack full of clothes.walking into the house. “ I have a feeling that this house is going to be a whole new experience”. good or bad? We’ll find out later. I began to sort out my clothes on my comfy carpet floor of my room. I had skirts, shirt,pants,pajamas - everything a girl my age could need. I heard a knock at the door. I quickly turned around, and was startled to see my mom standing there. Ava invited us for a dinner at her house. If you would like to go that would be great, but u can also stay here to finish unpacking and I’ll bring you some food” she says. No I’d like to go, what time are we going over?” I asked “6:30 Also we’ll be up with your bed pretty soon so you can set it up. It’s not too bad you’ll be okay by yourself” she says. I gave her a thumbs up and smiled before continuing to separate my clothes. My fingers wrapped around my phone, using my thump to push the power buttons allowing the time to pop up, 5:40. I look around and see my mirror lying on the floor. I picked it up and place the hook on the frame of the door, allowing me to see my whole reflection. Ava barged into my room with boxes for my bed, then my mom follows in with my mattress. How did she get it up stairs by her self I have no idea. Here you go hun, we’d stay to help but we need to continue taking things down there is a lot!” He says,and before I could say anything they both ran out and down stairs. I shrug and look at the bed. I decided to set up the bottom considering there’s not much to it,it’s basically halfway built. I begin to grab the pieces and put them on top of each other and at this point,I’m getting frustrated and just lay the mattress on the floor. And hope for the best. I take a look at my self on the mirror and decide that the shirt that I’m wearing is gross. I changed into a plan white T shirts which contrast my dark jean. I check up on my makeup then mom calls me down stairs to go to Ava’s house. I slip on my sneakers and run down stairs only to meet my mom already out the door.I expect her to already be in the car but she’s just standing there. Ava already left,let’s go “ mom says.I let her go first, then make sure to close the door behind me. I noticed her start walking pass the car, but decide not to say anything and just see how this plays out. I begin to follow her only to end up at the door of the house right next to us. My mom knocks on the door and a girl around what looks like my age answers. I look slightly up to look at her face. She has dark, chocolate brown hair that effortlessly flips to the Side of her head and bright ocean blue eyes. No other to explain it expect, she is beautiful. “You must be Olivia” she says. “ yes that’s me, and you must be Emma.your mom always talks about you” Emma. I’ve heard of that name but have Neva met anyone with it,especially not someone who is attractive as she is. “Yes I’m Olivia” her eyes trail down to me and her eyes widen” And who might you be? She says with a smirk. “ sophia” I reply while making full eye contact with her. “Please come in”she says.I take a step past the “welcome mat” and walk into the house extremely similar to mine,beige walls and brown couches,nothing looks like average family like this house.I take a left turn to the kitchen and take a seat at the dinner table. Next to Olivia, since is the only spot left. Before I knew it,Ava place a white plate with pasta and meatballs! A classic.I grab with fork and automatically dig in, and let’s say this pasta is phenomenal. “Well, thank you for the great food-” I say but then cut myself off and glance over at my mom and continue,“but we should get going I have a lot of stuff to unpack. “Sophia calm down,we just got here, let’s take a moment to appreciate this moment that we’re spending with more people,rather than just the two of us.“mom says.I place my fork on my plate and smile forcefully. Honestly, sitting next to Olivia is making me a little nervous and I don’t like it,so the best thing for me is to leave.“Olivia why won’t you show Sophia around the neighborhood?Ava says. “If it’s alright with Sophi” Olivia says as she turns her head to look at me. I choke a little and take a sip of water. Not expecting Ava to ever say anything like that.knowing my mom had my back, I ask her. “I think it’s a good idea to go back home and pack, don’t you think?” “ you have the whole week to do so,take some time and get to know your neighborhood,my mom replies.I takes another sip of water, then nod as happily as I can make it seems. “Sounds perfect to me” I say with way too much enthusiasm.come on Sophia she is just a girl that is slightly attractive there is no reason for her to make you nervous. You should be the one making her jealous and scared. “Alright let go”Olivia says as she stand up from her chair,my stood up from my chair as well,but grab my plate and politely ask Ava, “Where should I keep the dirty plate”. “Don’t worry about it! just leave it there I’ll get it later.”she replies. I’m kind of shock, considering that’s not something my parent would let me do,but I place the plate back down and take a step away from the seat. “Be careful”mom says “ I will, don’t worry” I says. Olivia begins to take the lead out the door and I begin to walk down the street,noticing the sun beaming with lots of light. “Alright,most of here is basic,I don’t really know a lot of people cause I don’t go to school but I do have lots of friends around here” “Wait you don’t go to school?” I ask “I’m home schooled,have been for the past few years now.” she says “ Oooh okay” I say. She show me around and name as many people she can which o honestly don’t understand since I don’t know anybody,but I hope to know who these people are later on. “And up ahead is a park” we have a park really close by to us so I like to hang out over there and I play basketball sometimes volleyball.” “I love basketball” I say “ you do? That’s awesome! We should play it together then” she says “Sounds fund I’m Down for it!” I say “ well Sophia,you’re too pretty chill for a girl” Olivia says “ thanks I get that a lot” I say “you are also incredible beautiful” she says as she stares into my eyes “Ooh shoot that just slipped out I’m sorry!” She says.I giggle “it’s fine! Can we go to the park? Just to walk maybe” I say “Of course” We walk to the park and just walk in general. It’s peaceful to be honest. “Hmm” she says and then start to tickle me. I fall on the ground laughing and squirming around. I stop laughing as she is on top of me and I was just breathing a little heavily. “ you should stop being so god damn hot” she says as I stare into her eyes” And why should I?” I say as I run my chest over her chest. “Because I want to do so many things to you” she says as she runs her nose over my neck sending chills through my spine. “Mmm you smell good”she spit out. “Should probably go” I say pushing her off me. “Oh yeah, um sorry” sorry she says. I chuckled a bit “it’s fine, my mom is probably worried that’s all” I say” so you would’ve stayed longer if it wasn’t for you mom?” She says with a smirk. Oh this girl is something “I’d like to think about that” I say looking at her. She chulk and hugs my waist as we walk back to her house. We walk in and my mom stand up “so how do you like the neighborhood?” She asks, “it’s pretty nice. I like it” I say I’m glad you do” mom says and hug me. My mom seriously mean the world to me, I don’t know what I will do without her. I did say the same word about dad though. I start to twirl my blonde hair. It has brown it some pieces, but it’s actually natural. My dad had brown hair and my mom has blonde hair. It’s kind of weird but I love my hair so it doesn’t matter. “So Sophia which school did you go to?Ava asks “ this year I’m actually doing online school so I don’t go to certain school. But, I did use to go to private school” I say Yes,I’m online schooled, it actually not as nice as most people think it is but it is a thousand times better than actually going to school. “Oh! That’s awesome” Ava says,what’s so awesome about school? Online or not online,school still sucks cause you have to learn something as nd waste your whole day doing something stupid. Like,when will you ever use algebra? Only if you’re an algebra teacher.it’s just plain horrifying,and don’t get me started on the girl at school.ugh they’re worst than everything at school put together. “It was nice meeting your mrs.brown shaking her hands, “And it was nice meeting you Sophia,she says. “Ot was nice meeting you Sophia”Olivia says with smirk.what the hell. Is this girl up to? “ it was nice meeting you too Olivia” I say “Well bye Ava,bye Olivia,mom says.they both say goodbye then mom and I walk back to our house. I got ready for bed then mom walks in right before I go to sleep “just came to say goodnight.how do you like our neighbors?” She says Ava is pretty chill and Olivia is pretty fine. “They are pretty cool”
