Chapter 01 - Welcome to my Life

"WHAT THE HELL MAIA!" My older brother exclaimed.

All in the table had startled. Just then I realized what happened.

We are having a fancy dinner on an island with a family friend. A very prominent family in our place. I was scooping some soup into my bowl when the spoon I was holding slipped together with the soup on it and fell to my older brother's polo shirt he is wearing.

"Sorry, Ian. The spoon slipped." As he wipes the soup on his polo shirt. I explained while apologizing to him.

I look at my parents, and they are like throwing a dagger at me with their eyes. Oh boy! I am sure I'll be nagged later when we get to our villa.

As I look to the other side of the table, I spotted a pair of eyes looking at me with glee and there I saw a grin. 

"Oh, God!" I whispered.

Of all people, why Isaiah saw this scenario! 

Yes, Isaiah! the one and only Isaiah King, the one who loves to see me devastated at all times, the one who always bullies me in high school. When I was a child, I thought he was my knight and shining armor but no, he is my worst nightmare. A rich kid demon monster. He is the son of none other than Elijah King and Sia King, who owns King Industries. They are also my parents' friends, By the way, I am Maia Elissei Quin the daughter of Manasseh Quin and Aiah Quin who owns the Qn Architectural Firm, one of the largest and well-known architectural firms in the world. Beside me is my older brother Rui Ian Quin. 

"Maia! Go eat your food!" My mom told me. Cutting my train of thought and finished my food. 

And when I look at Isaiah again, he is still grinning at me. Ok, I had enough. I must leave this place before I explode.

"Mom, Can I excuse myself for a bit? I need to go to the comfort room?" I whispered to mom.

"Go ahead. Come back quick." she waves with her approval.

"Excuse me." As I stand up and walk towards the hallway. 

I can breathe at last! FRESH AIR! Not like in that room. The ambiance there was very suffocating. I can't breathe properly there. As I walk to the hallway, I looked at the window and got amazed by the view. 

"WOW!" I said with amazement in my eyes. 

I never thought I will witness this kind of view in my entire life. The moonlight perfectly reflecting at the waves splashing at the shore. What a masterpiece. Truly God made the world beautifully. I walked through the hallway and saw a door going to the beach. Hmm. why not walk on the shore for a bit?

Opening the door and rush to the shore. I felt the waves touching my feet. It felt so good. It relieves my stress. I decided to sit on the sand and close my eyes feeling the waves are still touching my skin.

"I hope this will never end," I said to myself. I love this. How the moonlight goes to my skin and the waves touch it. Then...

"Enjoying ourselves, are we? It's been a while no?" someone talks at my back.

My eyes open wide in shock when I realized who could that be. Ughh. Isaiah!! WTF! 

"Now what?!" I told him sarcastically.

"Woo! Chill Maiei! I am here to enjoy viewing when I saw you!" He explained.

Damn that 'Maiei'! He used to call me when he loves to make fun of me. I need to get rid of him at once.

"Stop the nonsense, Isaiah! I know what's running on your dirty little mind!" I'm about to stand when he leans in front of me causing me to fall to the sand.

"Right now, you look cute. Especially when you spoil Ian's polo shirt. HAHAHA!" 

Is he laughing at me? Oh, God! Why did I need to be with this rich kid demon monster for 3 days?

Oh, didn't I tell you? We are on a family vacation with the Kings' for 3 f***king days on an island without signal. Good thing I have brought some of my books that I could read however I am sure someone will keep bugging me from time to time because he is bored. 

I push him away and saw him fall into the sand and based on his expression he is surely shocked by what I did. Serves him right duh! Ace for Quin! Yeah! HAHAHAHA

"It's Maia, not Maiei!" I spat then turn around and walk towards the resto where my family is eating.

"This isn't the end Maiei!" he shouted.

Oh! Bring it on Monster! 

"Maia! Where have you been?" My mom told me when she saw me returning to the chair I had sat on earlier.

"Isaiah was looking for you! Haven't you seen him outside?" Aunt Sia asks.

"I saw him, auntie! I think he still enjoying the sand for a while." I answered

With a questioning look, they start chatting again with each other. Then dad looks at me and asks me.

"So, Maia are you getting along with Isaiah?"

Hell no! Dad If only you have known how he bullied me in high school. It was a nightmare. WORST! He throws eggs at my head, sticks gum at my hair, and many more.

"HAHAHA! Dad, they were for sure!" Then Ian started laughing! Oh, God Ian!  Ian knows how Isaiah bullied me in high school because he is the one who always protected me from Isaiah's minions and the bitches who had a crush on that monster. However, it ended when he graduated from high school and the Monster still bullies me until we graduated. 

I didn't answer. I let my brother talk. I was drinking a punch when we saw Isaiah walking towards us... wait... no... wait. he is walking towards me! ISAIAH KING is walking towards me with a grin on his face! Oh, dear! What now monster! What are you thinking right now!!!!

He was now in front of me. GRINNING! 

"Mom, Dad, Aunt Aiah, Uncle Seh, and Ian. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you something special." He said confidently while looking at me.

"What is it?" Ian said smiling. Hey brother? Why are you smiling at him?! Although Isaiah bullies me, his relationship with Ian is still strong they were like siblings.

Then he looks at me, kneels, and opens a box with a diamond ring. "Maia Elissei Quin, will you marry me?"

"PpppppFFFFFFFFFTtttttt---- " I burst all the drink on my mouth to him.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" I can hear Ian laughing so hard! God! He is really enjoying it!

I looked at Isaiah again and he is smiling and looks hot when he is wet like that. Noooooooooo! Heck no! What am I thinking! 

"Maia Elisse!" My dad stood up and shouted at me.

"Sorry, dad!" I apologize. 

I looked at the Monster again "Can we talk in private?!"

"Hey! Everyone is waiting for your answer?" with his puppy eyes and he is still kneeling in front of me.

And there It hits me big time that his parents and my parents are still watching. He knows that my dad was rooting for our marriage for so long and if I say 'no" to him. My dad will surely kill me. This rich kid demon monster! How dare he used my dad against me?! I am so furious right now however I can't burst out my feeling in front of many people it will be a shame to my dad's reputation which means I don't have a choice. 

A sighed and answered, "Y- Yes."

And finally, I saw that devious smirk again. I know that I am now in trouble with this. He stood in front of me and took my left hand and put the ring on my finger. Everyone is happy about what is happening especially dad, I haven't seen him smile like that since I was a child. they also stood and clap with excitement. Even other people in the resto were clapping their hands. He hugged me and whisper something that gives me chills.

"I told you, that was not the end. This is just the beginning. WELCOME TO MY LIFE!"
