“Angie Stevenson,” a small girl replied. I could feel the disbelief well in the sound of her voice. It was the same amount that filled me. I didn’t know who the girl was, I had barely noticed her before this. I knew she had been adopted two or three days ago by the orphanage, and she had already found a home. My mind didn’t want to process my surroundings as they led her away. I could hear the kids around me voicing my thoughts, but I held my silence. I watched as the Matron followed the couple out of the room, but I knew she would be back later for Nick, May, and I.
