Chapter 1 The Betrayal
Joshua Calvert's father and Sabrina Larson's father had been bitter rivals for decades. Whether it was business, social standing, or reputation, they were constantly at each other's throats. The animosity between the two families was etched deep into their very foundations. However, behind their backs, their children had been sleeping together for a long time. Inside Sabrina's father's office, Joshua pinned Sabrina against the mahogany desk. Without a hint of foreplay, he drove into her. Sabrina's body jolted, a sharp whimper escaping her lips. "Oh... Joshua! It hurts..." "Sweetheart, you're so wet down there..." Joshua murmured, nipping at her earlobe, his voice low and decadent. "Be a good girl; bear with it. It'll feel better in a second." Her face flushed a deep crimson as she choked back tears, enduring his relentless rhythm once more. Suddenly, a noise echoed from outside. She trembled with fear. "Joshua, someone's out there... Please, stop." "It's more exciting with someone there. Wouldn't it be better if everyone knew the chairman's daughter was being taken by me?" He kissed the crown of her head, his pace never faltering as he continued to thrust into her. When it was over, Joshua pulled Sabrina onto his lap, tenderly wiping her clean. "Feeling shy? Why are you so adorable?" Gazing at the stains left on the desk, Sabrina buried her face in his chest, her voice muffled. "Don't let them find out... if my dad knew I was with you, he'd kill me..." Joshua deftly turned off the recording and, gripping her waist, pressed his lips to hers again. In the two years they had been together, he acted as though he could never get enough, dragging her to garages, private clubs, and even the guest rooms of the Larson mansion to make love in every conceivable position. Sabrina had tried to bring him home to meet her parents several times, but he always brushed her off, claiming he "wasn't ready yet." And yet today, he came to her father's company, had s*x with her in the office, and even begged her to record it as a keepsake. Shaking off the thought, Sabrina hurried to straighten her clothes and headed downstairs to find her father, hoping finally to introduce the two men. Her father, Rayan Larson, was in the middle of a televised interview in the conference room. Suddenly, the large screen went black, and a video flickered to life. It was the full, graphic encounter from the office just moments ago. Sabrina's face was clear and uncensored, stripped bare and pinned to the desk, her own voice moaning, "Oh, darling, slow down... It's too fast..." Only her voice was audible in the recording. The images were jarring, lurid and raw, like a scene from a pornographic film. Sabrina froze, her blood turning to ice as she watched the video play on a loop. "Turn it off! Shut it down now!" Rayan clutched his chest, shaking with a violent, helpless rage. Reporters swarmed like vultures, microphones shoved into Rayan's face as a barrage of filth and accusations poured out. Someone noticed Sabrina at the door, and the cameras swung toward her in a synchronized flash. A predatory reporter barked, "Ms. Larson, is that you on the video? Does your father know you're usually this promiscuous?" "It's a deepfake! Someone is trying to frame me! It's a forgery!" Sabrina's face was deathly pale, her knuckles white as she gripped the doorframe for support. But deep down, she knew. That was the very footage Joshua had recorded. Just as she turned to run upstairs to confront him, a reporter held up a document, shouting, "Ms. Larson, is this fake too? A certificate of hymenoplasty from three months ago! The ID information matches yours perfectly!" With a boom, Sabrina felt as if a bomb had detonated in her skull. Joshua had been the one who said he wanted to "experience her first time" again. He was the reason she went to that hospital. Only he and her best friend knew about this. How could this be happening? Just as Sabrina opened her mouth to defend herself, Rayan, unable to take the shock, collapsed straight to the floor. The room descended into chaos. Sabrina fought through the crowd, frantically getting her father to the hospital. Once he was settled, she pulled out her phone and dialed Joshua's number. "Where are you? I need to see you," she said, her voice a fragile thread she struggled to keep from snapping. Given an address, Sabrina hailed a cab and rushed there. Standing outside the private lounge door, her hand had just touched the handle when a burst of laughter erupted from within. "Josh, when are you going to tell Sabrina you're the son of her father's arch-rival?" Joshua held a half-burnt cigarette between his fingers, exhaling a thin cloud of white smoke. "No rush. I only approached her to get back at Rayan. That bastard tried to crush my father's business so many times that he ended up in the hospital with a heart condition. "This is just the beginning. I'm not stopping until I've watched that family's reputation burn to the ground." His friend started to reply, but a flirtatious female voice cut in. Sabrina recognized it instantly. It was her best friend, Laurel Sullivan! "Josh is right. That's exactly what Rayan and that b***h Sabrina deserve." Joshua turned, pulling the woman into his lap. "Speaking of which, I owe you thanks. If you hadn't suggested I record that video and leak it today, we wouldn't have had such a spectacular show." "Don't mention it. Rayan maliciously bought out my family's company years ago and ruined us. This is just karma," Laurel chuckled, clinking her glass against his. "And Sabrina... always acting so high and mighty. I wanted her to feel what it's like to fall from the clouds and hit the dirt." "I heard the press even got the hymen repair certificate. Laurel, that move was genius!" "Yeah, that old man Rayan was so pissed he went straight to the ER. The doctors said he almost didn't make it. He's still lying there now. What a joy to see!" Outside the door, Sabrina dug her nails into her palms until they bled. Her heart felt as if it were being shredded, a cold, hollow wind whistling through her soul. Everyone said Sabrina Larson was cold and arrogant, looking down on the world. But no one knew how lonely that "arrogance" truly was. After her mother died, her father was consumed by work and rarely came home. Sabrina slept alone, ate alone, and went to school alone. Because of her withdrawn nature, she had no friends. Then, Laurel appeared. She was like a little sun, taking her out, listening to her secrets, and even taking the blame when Sabrina made mistakes... In Sabrina's gray world, a flicker of light had finally emerged. Three years into their friendship, Joshua appeared. He claimed it was "love at first sight." Later, his grand, passionate pursuit moved her. When her father's enemies came after her, Joshua protected her, taking a serious injury in the process. After that, Sabrina finally gave him her heart. Her life was supposed to be happy. It was supposed to be warm. But today, everything shattered. It turned out that the sweet love and the friendship were nothing more than actors in a calculated play. The evidence used to destroy her reputation had been planted by the very people she trusted most. In a single day, she had lost both love and friendship. How ridiculous. How tragic. Sabrina trembled, wanting to scream, wanting to cry, but not a single tear would fall. In the end, she didn't push the door open. After walking away, she made a phone call. "Arrange a private jet for me. In one week, I'm taking my father out of this city."
