Dehradun, India, is located in the Doon Valley on the foothills of the Himalayas amidst the river Ganga on the east and river Yamuna on the west. The city of love, where I met the very love of my life….The city where I met him for the first time. The place where it all started. Meeting him there was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Mussoorie, a hill station in the Dehradun district, is situated in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan Range. I had been there to escape myself from the prickly heat of April. Mussoorie is one of the best place to visit in India in the summers. Summers is the best time to visit Mussoorie during summers, coz it gives a fabulous escape from the scorching heat of summer. Amidst this heat, Mussoorie is one of the best places to witness the pleasant climate out there. Besides if you want to enjoy seeing snowfall should visit Mussoorie during winters.
I had been there to shoot one documentary which happened to be part of my post-graduate assignment. Mussoorie is not only known for its picturesque scenes but also for education and business. Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, I had been there. I wanted to have several clips of officers out there for my documentary. In the academy, the officers are trained for the Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service. My documentary was solely focusing on the lives of army people. For that, I needed to capture the struggle, the effort, the dedication, and everything which our officers put in just for our safety. The Dehradun, Mussoorie academy was the best place for me as I was already there to enjoy my vacation.
Well, Arnav was also there for his work. He was an engineer but his parents always wanted him to be an Indian Police Officer. So he was there to get his training. Albeit he was least interested in becoming an officer.
As I was there to take the clips of soldiers for my documentary, Arnav was one of them whose clip I took. We both had the first interaction there.
At first, I was very nervous as to how will I do this. The officers are so brave they are so bold. Will I be able to say things to them, will I be able to ask questions from them?
I was too nervous and shy.
It was Arnav who made me feel comfortable. Yeah, he did not know me from before but he came to me and said " Hello ma'am, how can I help you? "
I explained and everything to him then he made my task easier, he helped me a lot. Yeah, he helped me but it was not at all a friendly gesture. It was just a courtesy, etiquettes. After I was done with my work took some selfies of mine with the officers there and departed from there saying goodbye...
Yes, I did not fall for him , that day. It was not at all love at first sight. But the first impression of him was very good for me. Yeah! It will not be wrong if I say that he seemed like a perfect gentleman to me.
He was quite affable, and I liked his behavior but nothing more than that.
Ah! finally, I was done with all my things. Now it was time for me to depart from there ...
Goodbye Dehradun until next time ... Will come soon ...
